By picking out a specific perfume, we can still express our emotions in a very intense way. Even without words. Perfume is a language. It can speak for us and it makes it possible to get in touch with particular emotions and associations we want to recall. There are particular matters we like or don’t like, considering the associations we make. In this instance, we are often not even aware of it. Fragrance lives it’s own life on each different person. We can smell the scent; afterwards it makes a long journey on the skin to disappear. My name is Wim and I am Fragrance Expert at YOUR. Perfumes are my passion. Therefore I would love to share my fascination with you. My ambition is to find your perfect fragrance. I adore perfume houses with a long tradition and history however, I admire modern creators who see perfume as an art too.

YOUR carries Creed and Lubin, who both have a very rich heritage. They both exist for more then 200 years by now. Without jeopardizing quality or creativity, they survived. They still exist because of the respectable footprint they left in the perfume industry. Apart from this, YOUR has fantastic experimental brands like ‘Comme Des Garcons Parfums’ too. Fragrance is art, in the most experimental way. For us, the qualities of the perfumes have to be of on outstanding quality. That is why I like to call our collection “Luxury Fragrances”. If a brand does not approach this, I will not accept it. I am very proud to tell you, I am very resolute when it comes to selling the right brands. It’s hard not to get excited when Rei Kawakubo does something new. The founder of Japanese label Comme des Garçons has been wowing us for years with her deliciously original approach not only to the creation of avant-garde street fashion but equally to its branding and distribution, something she sees as integral to the design process. Comme des Garçons, the Tokyo-based avantgarde fashion design house, designs “clothes with a edgy touch that’s more familiar to conceptual art than to fashion”. The house was founded in 1969 and debuted in Europe in 1981. “I have never really been into fragrances,” said Kawakubo in 1999, and perhaps that attitude explains the brand’s strikingly unconventional range of scents. Besides its fashion department, Comme des Garçons also produces a line of unisex fragrances, most of which are unconventional in the world of perfume, in the same spirit as the label’s garments. They released their first fragrance ‘Comme Des Garçons’ in 1994. 1998 saw the release of Comme des Garçons’s first “’anti-perfume’ Odeur 53”, a blending 53 nontraditional notes to create a modern and striking scent like oxygen, a flash of metal, sand dunes, nail polish, pure air of the high mountains, burnt rubber and flaming rock. “OLA CHOLA everyone, my name is Stijn! May I have a minute of your time?” A little introduction of myself... As some of you might know already, I’m YOUR hairdresser, and I’m already looking forward to meeting you. I think of myself as an easy-going, broad-minded, determined but slightly crazy individual. Before my job at YOUR, I worked in different salons with diverse styles and various clientele. Working with -and for all kind of people, resulted in the fact that I needed a break from all that and that I had refocus. Working as an independent hairdresser became my new goal. While I gathered the information to realize my dream, a friend of mine literally disordered my plan. “ I’ve got something for you… “ She said. “YOUR premium store is looking for an independent hairdresser, and the store screams for you, Stijn.” By chance, this person is someone who knows me properly. She has the amazing gift to confront me with these emotions…even if I’m not aware I’m harbouring these strong feelings. Therefore, I would never question her view on things.

Me, working for someone else’s store? That was not a part of my carefully considered and pre-setup plan. So I disagreed. Since she doesn’t take no for an answer, she squeezed me in the shower and picked out the outfit I had to wear. I had never been inside YOUR premium store until this day. The vibe was very relaxed and the store was exactly what I’d like a store to be! Because I was on a mission, I put up my Colgate smile, walked over to the owner and said: “Hey I’m Stijn , I’m a hairdresser and a little bird told me u could use one”. We laughed and the rest is history. Some people immediately jump up in my chair when they visit the store, they tell me their problems and wishes, so I can work my magic. Others tend to be a little afraid to take that big important first step. Don’t be afraid, I won’t bite. The way I look is in no way a reflection of how your hair will look. I listen, suggest and ask for confirmation before we go buck wild. You can come to me for a fresh cut, a new colour, or just a nice styling. I’m specialized in hair extensions too; I use high quality hair and a natural way of putting them in. If any of you have any kind of questions, please do not hesitate to call or visit me at YOUR. Nico On an early Fall morning, we met up with Nico Vrijdag. Premium shopper Nico is the face of the company Invest Solution. A legend in the scene of time

Roland Bindi, a.k.a. the Bindi, is the Lifestyle Specialist at YOUR. He’s been there from day one, since the creation of the store. Some of you might even know him because of his musical & entertaining career as a percussionist of Buscemi and several other international artists. He’s also the former percussionist and vocalist of the renowned Belgian 80’s band ‘Allez Allez’, who did support acts of Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Defunkt, TomTom Club and many others. Because he’s a true value in our store, we did a little Q&A with him.

Dino Zei was born in Viterbo in 1931. In 1950 he entered the Naval Academy and in 1958, as a Naval Weapons Officer, he graduated in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa. His last assignment in the Navy began in 1968 with the double position of Head of the Weapons and Explosives Section of the Navy Commandos and Divers Headquarters Teseo Tesei and Head of the Ammunition Section of the Institute for Weapons, Ammunition and Missiles of the Standing Committee for the Experimentation on War Materials. In 1969 he became Director of the Centre of Studies of the Navy Commandos and Divers Headquarters. In 1972, after Giuseppe Panerai’s death, he left the Navy to take up the management of Guido Panerai e Figlio, a Florence-based company engaged in important and extremely delicate work for the Special Units of the Navy. In the same year he established and became Sole Director of Officine Panerai Srl, which took over all the activities and industrial capabilities of Guido Panerai. He became Chairman of Officine Panerai SpA, until the watch division and trademark were sold to Cartier and covered this position for the Panerai Sistemi SpA until 1999, when the business was transferred to the Bologna-based company Calzoni. He currently lives in Florence and is the official counsil for Anonimo watches. With his signature line, timeframe-experts keep talking about him. The man is a legend in the scene of time. YOUR founder Jorrit had the chance to meet him in his “humble” house in Florence. As charismatic and friendly as he always is, Jorrit got to go on a photo with him. Now let’s put this in a frame...or did we do that yet?

How do you combine your busy life as a musician with you job at YOUR? I must say it takes a lot of discipline and professionalism, which I try to combine with a lot of sport, stretching and above, meditation, power naps and eating healthy! How did you become the Lifestyle Specialist at YOUR? My guess is that I have a great interest in creativity and design, without losing the value of the concept. Also, I have always been fascinated by architecture, photography and urban life. Combine that with being the right person at the right time and place and it figures itself out! Can you describe what you like the most about your job? I love to welcome people with happiness, surprise them with a little craziness, make them feel at home and find their interest with elegance. Besides that i like to share my knowledge about several subjects with my colleagues. Can you please unveil your Golden Lifestyle-Rule to our readers? Always believe in yourself!
