Speakeasy Sarasota takes The Devyn back in time Clad in their best Prohibition-era finery, Sarasotans danced late into the night at The Devyn Saturday, Aug. 22. During the event, partygoers grooved to the tunes of gypsy jazz trio the Kevin Aland Band as well as DJs Imminent and Rus Deep. Dustin Juengel, a participating artist in “Four Artists/Four Walls,” used chalk for the first time to create a mural directly on the gallery walls.

Out of Frame Four local artists are skipping the canvas and illustrating right on the walls of the Basch Gallery.

ast season, Ringling College’s Richard and Barbara Basch Gallery was home to priceless pieces of Italian glass, abstract paintings and other visual art. To kick off the gallery’s season this year, things are a bit different. Chalk, vinyl and charcoal are on display, and there won’t be any frames. For this show, the wall is the canvas.
