Snappy’s tireless work does not stop when the children reach adulthood – in fact it takes it up a notch. The Senior Snappy club is mainly for young people aged from 17-25, who meet every Thursday evening. Just like any other group of young people they go clubbing, hit the local cinemas, pubs and bars and enjoy meals out. Along with a small team of volunteers, the group learn life skills such as handling their finances, cooking their own meals, relationships

and sexual health and learning how to live independently. As with all of Snappy’s schemes, the Senior Snappy group receives no funding and so therefore must find it all themselves. In the past the group have been so inventive with their fund-raising, from bag-packing at a local supermarket to hosting gigs at City Screen, that it earned them a Duke of Edinburgh Community Initiative Award. n If you are interested in working with the Senior Snappy group, call 640562
