About The Bruce Festival 2013 With this year’s Bruce festival just around the corner, Dunfermline Delivers are keen to encourage local businesses to embrace one of Dunfermline’s most visited and unique festivals and take advantage of the huge number of visitors expected to descend on the town to be part of this special weekend. The festival will take place on the 24th and 25th of August at Pittencrieff Park. Set against the spectacular backdrop of Dunfermline Abbey, the Bruce Festival will centre around Living History Scotland’s medieval village where visitors will have the chance to experience a taste of 14th century life with traditional crafts, food and drink and entertainment. We aim to make the 2013 Bruce Festival bigger and better than ever before and with 2014 marking the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn we hope to make the Bruce festival a highlight in Scotland’s calendar of special Homecoming events. We want it to be a celebration of Dunfermline and highlighting its unique place at the centre of Scotland’s story. 2012’s event saw over 15,000 visitors attend the festival and we hope that 2013 will build on the success of last year and attract visitors from all over Scotland and beyond to come and experience this celebration of Dunfermline’s place in Scottish History. We are keen to help local businesses’ take advantage of this busy and unique weekend.
