Personal checks may be made out to Young Life, with “TX471 — Jared Lindsey” on the memo line, and sent to: Young Life Victoria 6702 N. Navarro Street, Ste. 100 Victoria, TX 77904

Young Life is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and has maintained that membership through a yearly review of its compliance with the ECFA’s standards.

REACHING A WORLD OF KIDS Young Life continues to follow a movement of the Holy Spirit to make an impact on a world of kids. Since 2009 Young Life has doubled its reach, equipping more than 72,000 leaders in over 7,300 locations to meet more than 2.1 million kids every year — all with the purpose of introducing them to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

WHAT IS YOUNG LIFE? CONTACT WORK

Because kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care, Young Life leaders show they care by going where kids are, meeting them as they are, and believing in who they can be. Within Young Life we call the persistent going out into the world of kids “contact work.” But kids just call it friendship.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” — Lamentations 3:22-24

CLUB

We like to think of club as a “party with a purpose.” It’s controlled chaos that’s almost impossible to describe, but kids know it when they see it. And before the party ends, we share a simple message about God’s love for them. After all, that’s what the celebration is all about.

CAMP

Kids consistently tell us that Young Life camp is the best week of their lives. How else would you describe a week where deep relationships are forged in the midst of mind-boggling fun and you hear the greatest love story ever told?

CAMPAIGNERS

Campaigners is a weekly gathering for kids who wish to learn more or grow in their faith through study, service and leadership. We’re with kids for the long haul to help them take the first steps of faith with unconditional love. Along the way, we encourage kids to celebrate their faith through participation in a local church congregation.

JARED’S STORY We began our journey into full-time ministry after helping start a new Young Life ministry in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Ashley and I began volunteering with Young Life in 2005, right after we were married, and continued on for five more years before moving our young family to Colorado Springs, Colorado. There I attended Fuller Seminary and worked for Military Communities Youth Ministries at Fort Carson doing outreach to middle school kids on base. We spent two great years in Colorado Springs before I accepted a full-time job with Young Life as the area director in Victoria, Texas. We have spent the past five years working to build the local ministry so that we can reach more kids with the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. Our family has grown; we now have two kids: Ella Grace and Gabriel (Gabe). Ashley, Ella, Gabe and I would all love for you to journey with us as we continue to follow where the Lord leads.

AREA OVERVIEW Young Life was first introduced to Victoria ISD in the fall of 2010 with the formation of a Young Life committee. The committee quickly raised a budget, hired a full-time staff person and had two successful semesters of ministry with a couple of leaders and 15 kids coming to club. Now it has grown to five times that size. We launched at East High School in 2014 with an average attendance of 15 kids with three volunteer leaders. We have now grown into one club for East and West high schools with over 75 kids coming every week and 12 volunteers. We look forward to planting seeds at St. Joseph High School and Cade and Howell middle schools.

GOAL: To introduce high school and middle school kids in

Victoria ISD to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith.

VISION: That every high school and middle school student in

Victoria ISD would have the opportunity to hear of God’s love for them, be able to respond to that love and grow in their faith.

PRAYER: That God would use Young Life to dramatically affect this community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
