VISION • In the next 12 months, we would like to start WyldLife at Indiana Junior High and Young Life at Marion Center High School. • As God continues to provide, our goal is to see the YoungLives ministry take off in the county. • Through prayer and diligence, in the next five years we hope to have a presence at every high school and junior high in Indiana County. • In order to see all of this happen, we hope to double our committee to 20 dedicated adults over the next 24 months. • We’d also like to double our volunteer leaders over the next 12 months as we continue to pray that God will prompt the hearts of people in this county.

Young Life was incorporated in 1941 by Jim Rayburn, a seminary student and part-time youth minister in Gainesville, Texas, who wanted to reach out to kids disinterested in church. Rayburn went where kids were and found creative ways to share the love of God with them. His methods continue to transform lives today. Sarah Weaver

SARAH WEAVER

“So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.” — 1 Thessalonians 2:8

AREA OVERVIEW In Indiana County, we have Young Life ministries at three high schools in the areas: Indiana, Blairsville and United. We have Young Life College at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). We are in the midst of starting a YoungLives ministry for Indiana County as well. We currently have 15 volunteer leaders, and 10 committee members. The majority of our volunteer leaders attend IUP and a few of our volunteers are working professionals. God is definitely present and working in this small town, and we are so blessed to be a part of what He is doing here.

SARAH’S STORY I grew up knowing Jesus from a young age; however, my relationship with the Lord became real to me through middle and high school as I became more involved with my church youth group. As I entered into my freshman year at Grove City College, my love for the Lord was growing and I decided to become a volunteer Young Life leader. Over the next four years, God stretched and challenged me as He deepened my love for high school kids in the area and as I shared His gospel with them. In the fall of my senior of college, I began to feel God tugging on my heart to go into ministry. Continued affirmation through trusted friends, spiritual mentors, family, and prayer led me to confidently apply for Young Life staff shortly after. I am overjoyed to walk faithfully in my calling toward staff and am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me and those I will be encountering over the next few years.
