Personal checks may be made out to Young Life, with “IN57 — Terry Fogle” on the memo line, and sent to: Young Life Dubois County P.O. Box 517 Jasper, IN 47547-0517

Young Life is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and has maintained that membership through a yearly review of its compliance with the ECFA’s standards.

Young Life was incorporated in 1941 by Jim Rayburn, a seminary student and part-time youth minister in Gainesville, Texas, who wanted to reach out to kids disinterested in church. Rayburn went where kids were and found creative ways to share the love of God with them. His methods continue to transform lives today. Terry Fogle 1306 N. WHAT IS YOUNG LIFE?

CONTACT WORK

Because kids don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care, Young Life leaders show they care by going where kids are, meeting them as they are, and believing in who they can be. Within Young Life we call the persistent going out into the world of kids “contact work.” But kids just call it friendship.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” — John 1:14

CLUB

AREA OVERVIEW

We like to think of club as a “party with a purpose.” It’s controlled chaos that’s almost impossible to describe, but kids know it when they see it. And before the party ends, we share a simple message about God’s love for them. After all, that’s what the celebration is all about.

CAMP

Kids consistently tell us that Young Life camp is the best week of their lives. How else would you describe a week where deep relationships are forged in the midst of mindboggling fun and you hear the greatest love story ever told?

CAMPAIGNERS

Campaigners is a weekly gathering for kids who wish to learn more or grow in their faith through study, service and leadership. We’re with kids for the long haul to help them take the first steps of faith with unconditional love. Along the way, we encourage kids to celebrate their faith through participation in a local church congregation.

TERRY’S STORY

For most of my life up to the age of 22, God couldn’t have been further from my mind. I grew up as a kid, then a teenager, and into adulthood living life doing whatever I thought would get me the acceptance of others and help me to escape the pressure of this world.

The path that I was on typically landed me in trouble with broken hearts, broken dreams and broken relationships. At age 22 God stepped in and helped me to see that everything I had been searching for could be found in Him. Now at age 32, God has been

working on me in recent years putting in me a desire to share His love with the people of my community — specifically, the youth. I hope that God would use me in my community to show kids that He has everything that they are searching for as well.

Young Life has been in Dubois County for over 20 years. Until now, Dubois County Young Life has been primarily centered in Jasper, which is the largest city in our county. Over the last 20 years there have been countless stories of how the lives of young people in our community have been influenced by Young Life. On a weekly basis in Jasper, anywhere from 20– 40 high schoolers come out on a Monday night to have fun and hear about Jesus. Jasper has 10 leaders who have made it a point to spend their time building relationships with teenagers, walking alongside them through this very pivotal time in their lives. In recent years there have been more teenagers from Southridge High School making the 10 to 20-minute commute to Jasper to take part in the experience and relationships that Young Life oers. In addition, in the last three to four years adults in Huntingburg and Holland have expressed a growing interest and initiated the groundwork to get Southridge High School its very own Young Life. In November of 2017, Dubois County Young Life took the leap to hire me as Southridge’s first Young Life sta person. The first six months of serving part-time on the Young Life team has been amazing. For the spring semester of 2018, Southridge had four additional leaders that were committed to help get the ministry started. Southridge hosted two county-wide clubs that brought out about 40 to 60 kids from all over the county, and three Southridge-only clubs that brought out 10 to 20 kids each. Our community truly displays their love and dedication to investing in and developing the youth in our city. On behalf of Young Life, I look forward to helping these kids reach success!
