Wee Star of the Season

I am so proud of my little star Erin Leask as she was born with congenital cataracts which left her partially sighted. Erin goes to a mainstream school and doesn't let anything stop her. She puts so much effort into everything she does. She has had two ops to have lense implants which has made a huge difference. Erin is just waiting on her second lense implant to heal then her next adventure is to start swimming lessons which she couldn't do before and is very excited about. Erin is such an inspiration and that's what makes her our wee superstar.

There’s a world of fantasy and adventure waiting for children in all Glasgow Libraries this summer when they take part in ‘Mythical Maze’ the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge 2014 from Saturday 28 June to Friday 8 August.

Children aged 4–12 years can join in the adventure by finding their way around a labyrinth with the simple challenge to read 6 or more books over the summer holidays to keep up their reading skills. As they read they will meet some larger than life characters from myths and legends (with a modern twist) including a Yeti, the Minotaur, Medusa, Mermaids and even the Loch Ness Monster! They can keep track of it all on their fold-up poster and collect stickers and other rewards along the way. And now, all year round, the Summer Reading Challenge website: helps children keep track of their reading, find new books to read, take part in competitions and play games.
