A BUSINESS DEGREE BUILT ON PROFESSIONALISM

DARIEN GR AY:

“After falling in love with track and field in high school, I chose York in part to continue doing the sport I had so connected with. I set five records at York, but an injury left me sidelined during my sophomore year. The faculty at York helped me to determine some goals beyond athletics in my career. I want to start my own strategic planning and advertising firm, to help anyone struggling with their business model to turn around their circumstances and become profitable.

“YCP has taught me that life comes with risks and challenges, but to overcome those struggles creates great reward.” Darien Gray ’17, Business Administration with concentration in Marketing

My professors taught me so many lessons about hard work, and that success comes through a process of patience – that if you put in the work that no one else will, you will succeed.”

Take a step inside the Willman Business Center, and you’ll notice an energy throughout the five glasslined floors of the Graham School of Business. This is a school built on professionalism, expert faculty who bring real-world experience to York College, and a passion for connecting you to an internship or discussing graduate degrees.

You don’t become a business student at York College of Pennsylvania to simply attend class. You enroll in one of our 17 highlyrelevant and compelling academic programs because you have big dreams and want focused guidance and personalized instruction to achieve them. Becoming a Graham School of Business student means you don’t want to accept the ordinary. Come see for yourself.

“What makes York College different is the personal experiences you can have with professors.” Matt Mallen ’16, Marketing

Professional Surroundings for Future Professionals You can’t feel prepared for a career in business if you don’t have the right training environment. From your first day in class inside the Willman Business Center, you’ll feel like you’re already in a professional setting. With its glass-enclosed corporate training center, real-time NASDAQ ticker — imagine a finance class in our NASDAQ Trading Lab — and ready access to computers, Willman means business in every sense.

CONNECTING WITH OPPORTUNITY

KENZIE SCHMITT:

“During my first year, at a Supply Chain department meeting, the professors sang a song congratulating some of the students for passing a really difficult exam. It was so funny!

“Our student placement record is spectacular. We have 100% student placement in earlycareer supply chain operations management positions within the first few months of graduation.” Dr. Mohammad Raja, CPIM, CSCP Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Operations

I had fun, and yet I learned so much about professionalism at YCP. I felt comfortable going into job interviews and knew how to act in the workplace. Joining APICS, the supply chain club, led to great opportunities. As an APICS international scholar, I went to Las Vegas and met people from major companies.

“I really liked the professors and staff; honestly, they're laid back but professional, and genuinely care about us.” Kenzie Schmitt ’17 Supply Chain and Operations Management Major

I did internships for three years, and the last one led to my current full-time job. YCP has a ton of great connections.”
