YOLANDE VORSTER STUDENT PORTFOLIO

YOLANDE VORSTER CONTACT DETAILS: Date of birth: 18/02/1989 Mobile: 0439 715 304 E-mail: yolande.vorster@uqconnect.edu.au Address: 8 Kowari Cres, North Lakes, QLD, 4509 I was born in the beautiful, culturally rich Midlands region of South Africa, where I completed my schooling before immigrating to Australia with my family. I also enjoy skiing, photography, running, cooking and organising events. I have taken part in the SONA mentorship program, which has proven to be an enriching experience as I have gained insight into the working process of small, medium and large architectural practices. It has also fuelled my passion for architecture, a passion that has changed the way that people around me view the built world. SHORT TERM OBJECTIVE: To attain a position in an established architectural firm where I can experience, learn and contribute as much as possible, while developing my existing skills and knowledge. LONG TERM OBJECTIVE: To become an integral part of a leading international architectural firm, where I can utilise my experience and creativity to contribute to the design process and completion of meaningful architecture. EDUCATION: 2010 to present Bachelor of Architectural Design at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD Current GPA 6.3 2010, 2012 + 2013 Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement For achieving a semester GPA (Grade Point Average) above a 6 (out of 7) 2011 to present Active member of SONA (Student Organised Network for Architecture)

custom curtain wall mullion

2 line of angled mullion

This project involved redesigning the facade of the TAB Building in Albion. Folding the traditional curtain wall facade allows it to function both as a sunshading device and a rainscreen.
