Yale Model Government Europe, 2012 November 22—25 | Prague |

A new and innovative conference, Yale Model Government Europe draws on a large and distinctive background in Model United Nations. Run by members of the Yale International Relations Association—an group of students with a passion for Model UN and international affairs—YMGE combines the prestige and history of Yale Model UN with a fresh spark of creativity and faithfulness to real-world diplomacy. UNIQUE & INTERACTIVE CRISIS MODEL YMGE delegates participate in a simulation of the European Union - meeting in National Cabinets, Councils of Ministers, and the EU parliament. Challenged to resolve national and international crises whilst being fed a live stream of interactive updates, delegates must, as a group, respond to a global outlook that could change drastically at any moment. Each individual delegate is challenged to think critically about their proposed solutions to the crises that arise. DYNAMIC COMMITTEES 85% of YMGE committees are capped at 30 delegates. This intimate committee environment is an interactive learning space: through frequent opportunities for participation in debate and one-on-one interaction with the committee chairs, delegates are able to apply their knowledge of global affairs and master the skills of international diplomacy. Dedicated crisis directors are in constant contact with the committee chairs, propelling debate forward with timely and exciting crisis updates. PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE, PROFESSIONAL SETTING YMGE is a unique opportunity for delegates to interact with our staff of extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable Yale undergraduates and to gain exposure to Yale’s ivy-league liberal arts curriculum. Our staff is highly experienced: most have years of Model UN experience on both the high school and collegiate level, and many are also members of MUNTY, Yale’s own top-ranked collegiate MUN team. All staff attend crisis training and also staff Yale’s flagship High School MUN conference, YMUN, soon entering its fortieth year. All YMGE committees and events are held in the Corinthia Hotel, a five-star hotel and conference center situated conveniently at the intersection of downtown Prague with the historic city center. Round-the-clock security is provided on meeting and lodging floors in this controlled setting. QUALITY AT A BARGAIN As a constituent group of the Yale International Relations Association, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit educational foundation, YMGE is able to pass on significant savings to our participating schools while guaranteeing a top-notch, professional conference and committee environment run by Yale University students. YMGE’s registration fees are only a fraction of those of our peer conferences; furthermore, YMGE offers a wide range of discount and incentive programs in cooperation with our tourism, travel, and lodging partners. AN UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND Our incredible committee experience is set in downtown Prague, so delegates will get to experience a historic European cultural hub as they live the cutting edge of global politics. With unique crises, an extraordinary staff, and an incredible host city, we are sure that YMGE will be a conference experience you will never forget!
