The SMP steering group and its partners are pleased to invite you to the second early years miniconference. Building on the success of the first conference and subsequent developments this event will have three main strands: • • •
Training of students and early years staff. Update on SMP initiatives and projects since summer 2011. Networking & looking at the next steps.
The conference is designed to bring together council officers, community workers, early years nursery staff and artists that are involved in the development and provision of music for young children (0-5 years) across Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen. The Strategic Music Partnership’s aims are to commission high quality creative work, broker new partnerships, and align services linked to recognised priority areas. We want to explore a better balance between need and provision, maximising existing resources and increasing the range and number of music opportunities for children and young people aged 0 – 25 across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. “Music and Me” Demonstration with David Trouton David is a freelance musician, composer and tutor of this early years programme commissioned by East Lothian Strategic Music Partnership. David will be working with some nursery children.
