We are a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Triad membership allows members to use all of the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina branches and YMCAs of Greensboro, High Point, Alamance County, Rowan County, Eden, Western Rockingham, Tom A Finch (Thomasville) and J. Smith Young (Lexington).

Membership Rates vary by age, number of individuals included, and branch location. Joining Fees are required for all new members joining the YMCA or current members who let their membership lapse for more than 30 days. Payment Options include invoice payments due semi-annually or annually upon joining and bank draft membership fees are withdrawn from a checking, saving or credit card account each month. Financial Assistance is available so that no one is turned away from the Y due to the inability to pay. Pick up a form at the Y or download from our website. Guest Policy and Fees are applicable for guests who will temporarily use our facility. Members may bring unlimited guests as long as each guests come no more than 3 times in the same calendar year for free.

Parents’ & Kids’ Night Out Enjoy a night out on the town while babies and kids ages 6 weeks to 14 years have a fun-filled evening with our lively and capable Y staff. Activities include an action-packed evening of swimming, pizza dinner, and games. After School With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, Y after school programs serve kindergartners up to 12 years old with a variety of program and activity options to explore and develop their interests and talents. Summer Day Camp With an action-packed schedule of assembly, swimming, arts & crafts, sports and more the summer will zoom by while kids make lifelong memories and new friendships. With flexible schedules and a wide range of activities, you belong at summer day camp!

Family Time

Healthy Kids Day Celebrate and encourage the whole family to prioritize healthy eating and physical activity during this free community event. The Y hosts entertainment, activities, refreshments, games and more! Stop by the Welcome Center if you’re interested in volunteering. Bunny Hop 5K Hop hop hop to it! Register for this family-friendly 5K held the Saturday before Easter Sunday and start a healthy holiday tradition.

Swim, Sports, & Play

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Child Care Child Watch We offer free drop-in child care while mom or dad makes use of the Y. Enjoy peace of mind, while your child engages in playful activity with other children in a safe, supervised environment while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests. Available to adult with dependent or household with dependent memberships. Parents’ Morning Out Have a busy morning running errands or need a little “me” time? The Y provides child care for babies and children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The friendly Y staff makes sure the kids have a great time playing games, making new friends, and learning during this active stage of your child’s life.

It isn’t always about whether you win or lose, but what you learn in the process. In our sports programs, kids meet new friends, build athletic skills, develop life-long passions and achieve goals in a supportive environment with caring adults. Y sports programs focus on values, sportsmanship, and fun! Indoor Soccer League Don’t let winter cool your soccer skills. The Y indoor soccer league, offered to boys and girls ages 3 to 11, includes weekly practices and games to continue to grow soccer skills in the off-season. In the process of tackling their footwork, children will build friendships as well as self-confidence in this encouraging team sport. Dance and Tumbling Little ones learn to express themselves through movement in this fun class. Learn basic ballet and tumbling movements in a creative and fun way! Classes use music and movement to introduce dance and coordination while building confidence.


Basketball Academy Build basketball skills with our motivating Y staff in this clinic-style program. Open to boys and girls ages 5 to 14, players will develop better technical skills and communication while working together in this team building environment. Parents are welcome to watch their kids show off what they have learned in a game held the same night as practice.

TYDE Swim Team We believe in developing swimmers who are better prepared in life by being better prepared in the water. TYDE provides a comprehensive swim program ranging from non-competitive stroke development clinics to programs that regularly produce nationally-ranked competitors. We work with swimmers of all ages, abilities and competitive levels to carefully place each participant in a program that will allow them to grow and develop as both an individual and an athlete. Aquatics

HEALTHY LIVING

Make a splash with our four-week program that provides a critical life skill and love for this challenging sport. Classes range from water orientation classes to the more advanced technical and skill training. Introduce your children to the aquatic environment through games, songs, and aquatic activities in order to enhance physical, cognitive and social development. Adult Swim Lessons This class is for any adult, ages 14 and up, ranging from beginner through advanced. A trained swim instructor works with you moving at your own pace, learning basic stroke development, and water safety. Classes are 45 minutes. Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons These sessions are designed to improve your swimming at your own pace and create a safe environment to build your comfort level in the water. Enjoy one-on-one instruction or pair up with a friend to work with one of our friendly certified swim instructors. Each session is 30 minutes. Preschool Swim Lessons This class introduces children, ages 3 to 5, to their first experience swimming without a parent. It is a great way for kids to learn how to be independent and have fun in the pool. A trained swim instructor teaches this 30 minute class using the YMCA core values. Children learn at their own pace moving through our four skill levels. If your child is not fully pottytrained, it is required that they wear a “swimmy” diaper. Youth Swim Lessons This class consists of six levels, which focus on stroke development, water safety, personal growth, and fun. A trained swim instructor works with children, ages 6 to 12, at their own pace using the YMCA core values, building self-esteem, as well as self-confidence through swimming during each 45 minute lesson. Lifeguard Classes Become a lifesaver at the Jerry Long Family YMCA! Class dates range month-to-month, so please check online for specific dates. Each participant to complete the class will receive a YMCA Lifeguard Manual, fanny pack, CPR face mask, whistle and lanyard as well as their CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Oxygen and First Aid certifications.

Active Older Adults The Y is proud to offer a variety of programs committed to helping seniors maintain a healthy lifestyle and strengthen social ties. Participants in the program enjoy group outings, health education seminars, group fitness classes, volunteer opportunities and events designed to promote mental agility, good health and independence.

Health, Well-being, & Fitness Boot Camp Boot camps kick-start your fitness goals or can help you break through a weight loss plateau. Certified trainers and experienced instructors lead programs for all ability levels from Beginner and Extreme Boot Camp to Yoga/Pilates Boot Camp. Group Fitness Try out some group fitness classes to find the right one for you! We offer traditional Group Fitness classes like step aerobics as well as LES MILLS branded classes like BODYPUMP. All of these classes are free with membership and held in our 3 studios - Mind and Body, Group Fitness, and Cycle. TRX Suspension Training Born in the Navy SEALs, Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. These total-body workouts are coached by TRX Certified instructors and perfect for the beginner to the elite athlete. Personal Training Program Sometimes we all need an expert to help reach our full potential. Embrace a healthier lifestyle with a program designed especially for you! Our certified personal trainers focus on personal growth and are dedicated to your individual success. The Y also offers specialty and small group training sessions. Transformation Nation Triad What is standing between you and the version of yourself you want to be? Now is the time to transform yourself both inside and out. TNT includes free group training at the Y from personal trainers and wellness coaches, support from a team all working toward personal wellness goals, and expert information from nutritional and motivational speakers. YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight can prevent or delay development of Type II Diabetes in those at high risk for the disease. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is led by a trained Lifestyle Coach in a supportive small group setting which will help you learn how to adopt healthy habits to reduce your chances of developing Type II Diabetes.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors achieve their holistic health goals. The 12-week session includes two 90-minute classes per week in a small group setting, which includes a wellness program suited to your individual ability level. The program is no cost to participants, who must be referred by their doctor, and also includes a Y membership for the session’s duration. Get on Your Weigh Get the support, motivation and professional instruction you need to make your healthy lifestyle choices a way of life. This 12-week weight management program incorporates group workouts, nutritional information and support from a personal trainer in a friendly competition. This program is designed for overweight adults who are at the novice/beginning fitness level.
