About the Statesville Family YMCA We are dedicated to building healthy and confident children, adults, families and communities.

Benefits from membership include access to wellness and aquatics facilities, a reduced rate on all programs, free adult group exercise classes, water aerobics, child watch services, volunteer opportunities, and much more. Monthly membership rates and joining fees vary by age, number of individuals included, and branch location. Guest Policy and Fees are available for guests who will temporarily use our facility. Members may bring unlimited guests as long as each guests come no more than three times in the same calendar year. Children are like sponges - they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our Child Care, After school and Child Watch programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. These services are free for Household and Adult with Dependent memberships and available while an adult is participating in a Y program.

Swim, Sports, & Play It isn’t always about whether you win or lose, but what you learn in the process. In our sports programs, kids meet new friends, build athletic skills, develop life-long passions and achieve goals in a supportive environment with caring adults. Y sports programs focus on values, sportsmanship, and fun! Homeschool PE Physical activity is a critical part of a child’s educational experience. Join us for Homeschool PE time with our trained staff who make recess time fun with special games and activities. Kiddie Kickers Introduce your little one to soccer and teamwork with this approachable clinic-style program for ages 3-4. We start with the basics of the sport and grow a passion for an active lifestyle. Channel your toddler’s energy into a healthy interest in sports while learning the importance of focus and self motivation. Soccer League Learn communication and teamwork in a positive environment where every team member is important. Children ages 4-18 learn responsibility and dedication while improving soccer skills at all ability levels. Program is schedule-friendly with just one practice and one game per week. Indoor Soccer League Don’t let winter cool your soccer skills. The Y indoor soccer league, offered to boys and girls ages 3 to 11, includes weekly practices and games to continue to grow soccer skills in the off-season. In the process of tackling their footwork, children will build friendships as well as self-confidence in this encouraging team sport.

Child Watch We offer free drop-in child care while mom or dad makes use of the Y. Enjoy peace of mind, while your child engages in playful activity with other children in a safe, supervised environment while you exercise or connect with others over shared interests.

Little Dribblers Basketball Perfect for the future basketball star age 3 to 4, energetic kids have the opportunity to learn the basics of basketball while developing a healthy and active lifestyle. Children learn to enjoy a goal-oriented activity while having fun. This opportunity allows children to participate in group activities teaching them the importance of working together and sharing.

After School With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, Y after school programs serve kindergartners up to 12 years old with a variety of program and activity options to explore and develop their interests and talents.

Youth Basketball League One of the most popular Y programs, our fast-paced league for kids age 5 to 18 includes weekly practices and games. Our supportive staff will help players grow personally as they strengthen skills and establish work ethic. Building friendships on and off the court, participants will learn how to read the game and the importance of working together as they gain confidence.

Summer Day Camp With an action-packed schedule of assembly, swimming, arts & crafts, sports and more the summer will zoom by while kids make lifelong memories and new friendships. With flexible schedules and a wide range of activities, you belong at summer day camp! Register early for discounts.

Flag Football With all the action and excitement of classic football, this program for kids ages 4-13 improves overall fitness, as well as strategic game planning in a dynamic sport environment. Weekly practices and games encourage kids to set and achieve personal and team-oriented goals. Cheerleading Attitude determines a lot in life and cheerleading is a great way to instill confidence and positivity in your young ones. Learn the basics of cheerleading and and cheer on flag football teams to victory!

Aquatics Make a splash with our four-week program that provides a critical life skill and love for this challenging sport. Classes range from water orientation classes to the more advanced technical and skill training. Introduce your children to the aquatic environment through games, songs, and aquatic activities in order to enhance physical, cognitive and social development. Parent/Child Swim Lessons This program provides an early water experience for children from 6 months to 3 years. Children progress from water adjustment activities through basic water skills. Program instruction is directed toward helping parents work with their children. One adult must accompany each child. Preschool Swim Lessons This class introduces children, ages 3 to 5, to their first experience swimming without a parent. It is a great way for kids to learn how to be independent and have fun in the pool. A trained swim instructor teaches this class using the YMCA core values. Children learn at their own pace moving through our four skill levels. Preschool swim levels are Pike, Eel, Ray, and Starfish. Youth Lessons This class consists of six levels, which focus on stroke development, water safety, personal growth, and fun. A trained swim instructor works with children, ages 6 to 14, at their own pace using the YMCA core values, building self-esteem, as well as self confidence through swimming.

Baseball / T-Ball League Hit a home run in this league-style program for kids age 4 to 10! All skill levels are welcome to improve their skills with team-building drills during the week and fast-paced games on Saturdays. Make new friends and work on individual abilities like catching, hitting and pitching under the guidance of qualified and energetic coaches. Youth Volleyball Set yourself up for success and a fantastic time in this volleyball program! Participants ages 8 to 15 will have the chance to learn the fundamentals or improve upon advanced or intermediate skills. Each participant will experience skill development, thrilling competition, and fun with encouragement and guidance from our expert staff.

Family Time Healthy Kids Day Celebrate and encourage the whole family to prioritize healthy eating and physical activity during this free community event. The Y hosts entertainment, activities, refreshments, games and more! Stop by the Welcome Center if you’re interested in volunteering.

Adult Swim Lessons This class is for any adult, ages 14 and up, ranging from beginner through advanced. A trained swim instructor works with you moving at your own pace, learning basic stroke development, and water safety. Classes are 45 minutes. Private and Semi-Private Swim Lessons These sessions are designed to improve your swimming at your own pace and create a safe environment to build your comfort level in the water. Enjoy one-on-one instruction or pair up with a friend to work with one of our friendly certified swim instructors. Each session is 30 minutes. TYDE Swim Team We believe in developing swimmers who are better prepared in life by being better prepared in the water. TYDE provides a comprehensive swim program ranging from non-competitive stroke development clinics to programs that regularly produce nationally-ranked competitors. We work with swimmers of all ages, abilities and competitive levels to carefully place each participant in a program that will allow them to grow and develop as both an individual and an athlete. Lifeguarding Class Learning to save a life is a big responsibility. That’s why we have certified trainers to engage class participants in the coursework that prepares you for a lifeguarding job or just helps you be better prepared in the water. YMCA training meets all local guidelines.

HEALTHY LIVING Health, Well-being, & Fitness Personal Training Program Sometimes we all need an expert to help reach our full potential. Embrace a healthier lifestyle with a program designed especially for you! Our certified personal trainers focus on personal growth and are dedicated to your individual success. The Y also offers specialty and small group training sessions. Boot Camp Boot camps are a great way to kick-start your fitness goals or to break through a weight loss plateau. Certified trainers and experienced instructors utilize unique equipment and great work-outs to help you reach your potential and show you how far you can go when you push yourself. Group Fitness Try out some group fitness classes to find the right one for you! We offer traditional Group Fitness classes like cardio and strength training, as well as Zumba. All of these classes are free with membership and held in our 3 studios - Mind and Body, Group Fitness, and Cycle. Active Older Adults The Y is proud to offer a variety of programs committed to helping seniors maintain a healthy lifestyle and strengthen social ties. Participants in the program enjoy group outings, health education seminars, group fitness classes, volunteer opportunities and events designed to promote mental agility, good health and independence. The drive of friendly competition and opportunity to meet new people helps you build exercise into your busy schedule. Bootcamp “The Power Round” Waited until the last minute to meet your wellness goals? These high intensity, short duration boot camps help jumpstart your weight loss and fitness goals. Transformation Nation Triad Transform yourself in this free group training program at the Y, offered in partnership with WXII 12 and Forsyth Medical Center. Led by personal trainers and wellness coaches, get support from a team all working toward personal wellness goals, and expert information from nutritional and motivational speakers. Space is limited - first come, first served. Xtreme Challenge Tackle this tough 3.5-mile running course with a variety of obstacles including climbing walls, creek runs, phone pole and log leaps, rope and steep hill climbs, tire runs and mud pits all set in natural terrain.
