VOLUNTEERISM Did you know...? The Haverhill YMCA is a charity. We are a non-profit organization focused on community and human services. 100% of your donation goes directly to those in need. Every dollar donated to our Y For All annual campaign is used to support local children, families and individuals through Y programs, membership and camp. Y For All is more than donors and dollars. Our annual campaign is a grassroots effort led by dozens of volunteers and businesses from our communities.

Help the Y make a difference. It’s never too late to help my community with a gift to the Y For All campaign. Swing by the front desk or visit: www.northshoreymca.org/donate.cfm Thank you!

North Shore Y Volunteers Log Record Number of Hours for 2011 By giving their time in 2011, our North YMCA volunteers truly changed lives in our communities.

More than 3,200 volunteers logged over 31,000 hours for our organization, lending their expertise, their compassion and their enthusiasm to a variety of endeavors and positions that included road races, camp clean-ups, swim meets, Children’s Enrichment Center readers, lifeguards, homework helpers, camp photographers and marketing assistants, to name just a few. While the true “value” of the time given by these 3,200+ individuals is immeasurable, the estimated monetary value is slightly over $820,376, based on the most recent information provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Road Race Volunteer

Looking for a way to have fun and do good at the same time? The North Shore Road Race Series features exciting, well-organized and volunteer-driven races, while also helping to fund our annual Y for All Campaign, which provides resources for members of our community who are in need. By giving your time at any of our 12 road races throughout the year, you will truly be changing lives - and having fun while doing it!

Children’s Enrichment Center Reader

Brighten the life of a child by sharing your love of books and reading with our preschoolers! Volunteers are needed throughout the school year to read to the children at our Enrichment Centers.

Member Greeter PLANNED GIVING

Greet arriving members with a smile and help to get their time at the Y off to a great start! In addition to making members feel welcome, responsibilities include handing out towels, distributing and collecting locker keys, and scanning member cards.

The YMCA has recently launched a new planned giving initiative. Common planned gifts include a gift made through one’s will, life insurance policy, or retirement plan. All gifts benefit our endowment, a permanent fund used to support the Y. Gifts made to the endowment today will help support future generations. All those who make a gift will be invited to join the Triangle Society, our planned giving recognition society.
