Kids’ Night Out

Parents learn water safety, holds and towing techniques that encourage basic kicking/pulling and water independence for children. Swim diaper must be worn.

This class is for the child who has little or no experience. Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. *We will offer 2 classes during each time slot **Stage 1/2 classes will run simultaneously

Youth Swim

7 Week Session

Stage 5

This class is for the child who has little or no experience. Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Level 1 will be for first time or very beginner swimmers while level 2 is for slightly more experienced swimmers.

40 Minutes F: $75 M: $130 N: $195 Swimmers must be able to swim the entire length of the pool with proficient front crawl and backstroke and tread water for 1 minute without becoming exhausted to enter this class. Please bring goggles.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim Training Club

Adult Swim Stroke Development

For beginner and advanced swimmers seeking to improve their technique and overall fitness. This two days per week training program will provide you with new and challenging workouts to improve stroke technique, endurance, speed, and strength.

Develop basic swim strokes and use swimming as a source of fitness. It is recommended that participants have taken beginner swim lessons before or have prior experience. Participants should be able to swim at minimum 1 length of the pool.

Swim Testing All swimmers under 18 need to be swim tested in order to use the deep end of the pool. Swim test includes swimming 25 yards in a horizontal position, jumping into deep water, and treading water for 30 seconds. Swimmers who do not pass or choose not to take it must remain in the shallow end. Children under 10 years of age or shorter than 50 inches must wear a U.S. Coast Guard personal flotation device (PFD). Swimmers who are in the pool with parents at arm’s length may be excused of using a PFD. Anyone under the age of 7, regardless of ability, must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times. Lifeguards have the right to retest swimmers.


Swim Teams Little Piranhas:

A swim class specifically designed for swimmers who wish to join a swim team in the future. Taught by experienced aquatic instructors with a competitive swim background. Little Piranhas will prepare children for the swim team through stroke drills, endurance sets, flip turns, and race starts. For those of Youth Level 5 and 6 ability who are looking for a more competitive next step.

Piranhas Swim Team The Piranhas swim team is for swimmers ages 6-18. The swim team practices multiple days per week. For more information, contact Jose Medina at jmedina@metronorthymca.org.

Beginner Springboard Diving

Advanced Springboard Diving

Learn the basics of competitive diving. Students will practice back jumps in straight position, pike and tuck body positions, and forward and back dives. Divers must be able to pass the deep end swim test and do a forward dive from the side of the pool.

A class for divers who have been promoted from the beginner class or high school divers who want to perfect their advanced skills. Instructor recommendation is required.

Scuba Rangers

120 Minutes | 5 Weeks Saturdays 12:00pm - 2:00pm Ages 7-12 M: $415 N: $450 Learn a number of scuba skills, do obstacle courses, play underwater uno and much more. After completion of this class, students will receive a scuba rangers card. Participants must purchase a snorkel, scuba goggles and fins.

This class provides basic swim skills and teaches essential water safety techniques with the needs of each individual. Participant must begin the session accompanied by an adult in the water. Advanced Springboard Adaptive Swim

Certification Classes Lifeguard Certification Course

Ages 15+ | M: $300 N: $425 Students will be trained in the nationally recognized Red Cross Lifeguard Course including CPR, First Aid, and AED. Certification is determined by successful completion of in person skill sessions and a comprehensive written exam and water test. Swimming skills are a prerequisite and attendance in all classes is mandatory. Participants must be at least 15 years old by the final day of class. CPR/First Aid/AED for the Community

YBA- Youth Basketball Association Saturdays March 9th – April 27th FM: $80 I M: $115 I NM: $150

All divisions use age-appropriate basketballs and hoop settings while focused on fair play and fun. Our volunteer coaches will guide the players through skill development prior to weekly games. Players may request a buddy or coach but teams will be capped at 10 players on a first-come, first-serve basis. First 2 weeks will be practice/scrimmages, final 6 weeks will be games only. Teams will have a one hour time slot on Saturday’s and schedule will be distributed prior to start of the season. This beginner yoga series is perfect for anyone who is new to yoga or would like to create a solid foundation deepening their yoga practice. In this series, you will be introduced to the core yoga poses that make up a flow class. Each week we will breakdown a series of yoga poses focusing on breath, safe sequencing, alignment and gain confidence to take any yoga flow class.

Have you ever wanted to use our equipment but don’t know how? Do you want to try a class but feel intimidated? Don’t! Indoor Triathlon Torigian Family YMCA Saturday, February 23

At your designated start time, you will begin with a 10 minute swim in our indoor pool, shift gears and spend the next 30 minutes cycling on one of our bikes and then race toward the finish line with 20 minutes on the treadmill. Participants will be allowed time to safely change from the pool to cycling and to move from cycling to a treadmill.
