WELCOME TO THE YMCA OF FREDERICK COUNTY OUR MISSION: To put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. At the YMCA of Frederick County, strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility is our cause and vision. The Y is the largest childcare provider in Frederick County and, as a movement, the Y is the largest childcare provider in the nation. We provide a wide range of fitness classes and sports activities. In many places, the Y is known as a place to go swimming but it is much more than that- it’s a place that changes lives. Our open doors program welcomes all those who wish to enter: we provide financial assistance to 600-plus families in Frederick County through Y-subsidized scholarships.

Individuals who have made a meaningful gift or pledge of at least $10,000 to the YMCA Endowment Fund are recognized for their generosity through membership in the Heritage Club. Individuals who indicate that they have left a gift to the Y in their wills are recognized as members of the Legacy Society.

CECCHETTI BALLET METHOD

Ages 5 - Adult The Cecchetti Method is a ballet technique and training system created by Italian ballet master Enrico Cecchetti (1850-1928). A syllabus based training system, the Cecchetti Method is founded on the laws of anatomy enriching the dancer’s understanding of balance, poise, strength and fluidity of movement. Students learn to dance by studying and internalizing basic principles, in an effort to become self-reliant on knowledge rather than imitation of movement. Female students wear black leotard and pink tights. Male students wear white t-shirt and black pants/shorts.
