SPIKEBALL/ULTIMATE FRISBEE CAMP

This youth flag football camp is for the kids to learn all the fundamentals and positions of the sport, all while playing games and having fun. They will learn basic drills and plays that are used during the league, so this is a great pre-course or mid-season practice before our fall flag league that begins in August! What better way to spend the afternoon than to learn the great American pastime? Kids will learn all the basic skills to ready them for upcoming leagues, including catching, base running, throwing and batting. Don’t forget your spikes, gloves and water bottles. Duck, dip, dive and dodge your way to the top of one of our many varieties of dodgeball. Games are closely monitored for fairness and sportsmanship. Campers learn handeye coordination, strategic maneuvering and courage under fire. Games are played outside at our local parks, weather pending.

Playing soccer doesn’t have to end because the season is over. Join us in our summer camp where we encourage multiple touches on the ball, promote quick decision-making and even quicker reaction time. Players will learn technical skills in the morning and play small sided games in the afternoon. Have your camper brush up on their volleyball skills. We’ll focus on the basic fundamentals of volleyball serving, passing, plays off the net, and spiking. Campers will practice their skills while participating in a variety of activities and games.

We’ll introduce campers to two new sports while focusing on hand-eye coordination. Spikeball is a combination of the two sports volleyball and four square. Both sports can be played inside or outside.

YMCA CAMP INDEPENDENCE

CHGO02

We are named for the character building that starts the minute campers arrive. Camp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifida. Here, kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. We teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character. Our counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper. View and register for our programs at elmhurstymca.org/camp. 2018 Summer Day Camp | 15
