1 Human Reproduction Human beings are mammals. A baby develops in the mother's body until it is ready to be born.

Formation of a fertilised egg When a sperm meets with an egg in the oviduct, a fertilised egg will be formed. The fertilised egg will move from the oviduct to the uterus and develop into an embryo.

How an embryo grows The embryo cannot breathe and eat inside the uterus. It gets oxygen and nutrition from the mother through the umbilical cord. The embryo will develop its hands, feet and organs gradually. It takes approximately 38 weeks before the baby is ready to be born. When the baby is ready to be born, the wall of the uterus will start to contract and the baby will be pushed out through the vagina. This process is called labour.

Parental love Our parents raise us with great effort and love. As sons and daughters, we should love them in return.
