OUR HISTORY Established as a provisional chapter in 2003, the Minnesota Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC-MN) has become a leading regional catalyst for the acceptance and adoption of green building practices, technologies, policies and standards.


Growing from a handful of advocates interested in spreading the message of green building in Minnesota to an active and thriving organization intent on transforming the State’s built environment. Over its short history, the USGBC-MN has established a strong foundation through membership, sponsorship, educational programs and networking with like-minded organizations and individuals.

WHO WE ARE The Minnesota Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is a mission-driven 501(c)(3) professional organization that exists to support, promote, educate and recruit for the Green Building Industry.

WHAT WE BELIEVE We believe that our vibrant and diverse community of businesses and individuals share a common goal: everyone learns, works and lives in a green building where they have healthy air to breath, where energy and resources are conserved, that contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future.

WHAT WE DO We advocate for Green Building Industry at the state and local level. Collaborating on community projects such as our Dynamic Green Home Renovation and Green Apple Day of Service. Annually, we provide 40+ Education and Awareness programs, two large 1-day conferences with vendor expos, and feature 30+ hours of on-demand continuing education from local industry experts, averaging 150 visits a day at: GreenBuildingChannel.org Our programs and partnerships provide education and outreach to over 7,500 individuals. Natural Talent Design Competition The Natural Talent Design Competition is a 5 month process, culminating with an Awards Ceremony at the Chapter’s Annual Meeting in November.
