SEKHUKHUNE TVET COLLEGE Nothing is simple in the world of education and job creation. But Sekhukhune TVET College is serious about fixing some problems quickly, especially the shortage of people with skills that the economy desperately needs. The college consists of three campuses, namely: CS Barlow (Motetema), CN Phatudi (Prakteseer) and Apel campus (GaNkoana) based in Sekhukhune District Municipality, Limpopo. The college, given its location, faces an important task. Limpopo, a province rich in natural resources, has an 89% rural population and a very high percentage of illiteracy and unemployed youth. In an attempt to tackle these challenges, the college offers several study opportunities in National Certificate Vocational (NCV) level 2, 3 and 4, plus N1-N6 engineering qualifications and N4 - N6 nated business studies programmes. These have been particularly designed to counter unemployment and South Africa’s skills deficit. The college also provides skills development in the promotion of SMMEs, business support services and other SETA-approved skills programmes for social and economic development, which include building construction or civil engineering, electrical, mechanical, cabinet making, welding, horticulture and sewing or fashion design training opportunities.
