In history, Taijiang Inland Sea, a vast water surrounded by seven offshore sandbanks, has the large scale which allows it to ship thousands of boat. site sandbank industrial waters

Every evening, the lights of fishing boats can be seen scattered in the great bay, the sea-life scene beside the sea with the offshore sandbank in the vast inland sea make up one of the eight scenes of Taiwan – 沙鯤漁火. (sandbank and fishing boat lights). As time goes by, there was some dramatic landscape changing in Taijiang. Now the Taijiang inland sea becomes the biggest lagoon in Taiwan, it locates in Cigu and surrounded by three sandbanks. This lagoon as a natural fish farm supports Cigu become the biggest fishing area in Taiwan.

However, because of the building of the sediment dam and the sea level rise, the three sandbanks are disappearing. That means the lagoon will disappear with the sandbanks. If lagoon is gone, the fisheries in Cigu will have a huge impact.

Besides, the changing of the shoreline will expose Cigu to the great waves,strong wind, and flooding.Therefore, before the lagoon disappears entirely, the new shoreline should be created to sustain the fisheries and environment.

After a serial observation in Cigu, I find that the huge amount of fish farm provide much eutrophicated water to the lagoon - the oyster farm, the oyster can filter the eutrophicated water to pure water and feedback to the fish farm. This system is strong but still have some shortages, like the over use of groundwater and the lack of eutrophicated water in winter.

Provincial road no.61 intersect with the ditches, make the vacant field a collect ditch to collect the fish farm emission water from each ditch.

Provincial road no.61 The vacant land between the two roads was the predetermined site of the viaduct,however, the government changed the policy and the viaduct would not be bu ilt. The vacant land become a useless field.

Collect the fish farm emission water and use its eutrophicated ingredient to grow the algae to contsruct a basic eco-loop and plant mangrove and coastal plants, also, create wetland to attract wild animal,the eco-wetland can produce bioorganic water all the year. In winter, there would have enough eutrophicated water for the oyster. Use the abandoned oyster shell to make algae cultivating oyster reef, the reef can help sand and algae to attach, the emission of eutrophicated water f lows through it, the eutrophicated ingredients not only help the algae and mangrove grow but attract wild fish, crab, and oyster, then transplant the coastal plants grew by the fish farm emission water, as time goes by, the plants could provide wild bird to hide and the little creature could be birds’ food, a new shoreline ecosystem is building.
