Elections of the New Executive Board

New Year for the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association Georgia, started with the General Assembly held on January 18th, during which a lot of important topics were discussed: report of the year 2013, some changes to the organisational structure and the charter, GA organised in Brussels, etc. However, probably the most important parts of the Assembly were the elections of the new executive board and the plebiscite concerning annual membership fee.

The Elections of the new Executive Board culminated the GA. The competition between candidates was high and we are extremely pleased to announce that the new 2014 Executive Board consists of : Executive Director - Mr. Aleksandre Zibzibadze, Deputy Managing Director - Ms. Tamar Matiashvili, Secretary General - Mr. Rati Bakhtadze, Analytics Officer - Ms. Sophio Saatashvili, Communications Officer - Ms. Marine Kapanadze, IT Officer - Mr. David Gabuldani. Congratulations to them once again!

Training of the new members and allocation to the teams

Call of the new members In fulfilling their action strategies, all board members have chosen their working groups, which comprise of both: the new and the experienced members of the association. The call for new members was announced on January 25th and included application and an interview. Due to a huge amount of applicants, the selection procedure took a couple of weeks.

On February 8-9, the Executive Board of the Association, held the first training for the members in Tbilisi State University, which included: recruitment and training of members, submission of the action plan for 2014, and discussion of organizational issues. The final part of the training was presentation of different positions and their duties, interviews with board members according to members’ interests and allocations to the teams. After the trainings the team enjoyed a nice night out in a pub as their first joint corporate event with the new people.

Going international: Upcoming Events GYM-NATO GYM-NATO is an international student simulation of NATO’s decision making process that will be held in Gorizia (Italy) on May 12-16 2014.
