URBAN INFILL THE DESIGN AND THE PROGRAM AIMS TO TURN THIS REGION OF YESHWANTPUR INTO A HOTSPOT. THE SITE IS LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO THE METRO STATION SO THE WHOLE DESIGN ALSO AIMS TO ACT AS PLACE OF BUFFER AND CALM TRANSTION FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE APPROACHING THE OTHER PARTS OF THE APMC MARKET. THE SITE HAS A 5M DROP ALONG THE TWO DIAGONAL CORNERS PROVIDING A VERY INTERESTING TOPOGRAPHY TO WORK WITH.

AFTER THE DETAILED ANALYSIS OF THE WHOLE REGION, THE PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED WHICH SUGGESTED THAT THERE IS A BASIC NEED OF A PHC (PRIMARY HEALTHCARE UNIT) AND COMMUNITY SPACE. FIRST FLOOR PLAN

THE DESIGN FOCUSES ON USING ALL THE SITE FORCES AND TO CREATE A COMMUNITY SPACE THAT IS ACCESIBLE TO EVERYONE. THE SITE CONDITIONS TEND TO MOVE THE THE COMMUNITY SPACE ON THE UPPER FLOORS. THUS THE ROOF ACTS AS A COMMUNITY SPACE.

GROUND FLOOR PLAN THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE BEAUTIFUL BACKWATERS OF ALLEPPEY. ALLEPPEY PRIMARILY KNOWN FOR ITS SPICES AND COCONUT PRODUCTS IS ALSO A MAJOR TOURIST ATTRACTION. THE SITE PROVIDES A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE VEMBANAND LAKE AND VADAI CANAL.

VIT BAMBOO WORKSHOP VELLORE

PROCESS


AFTER A LOT OF EXPERIMENTATION, FINAL ANGLE WAS FIXED. THE IDEA WAS TO ADD TWO STRUTS TO MAKE THE FRACTAL STABLE WITH FIXED ANGLES. THE EQUILATERAL TRAINGLE IN THE FRACTAL IS USED TO CONNECT TO OTHER EUILATERAL TRAINGLE OF THE OTHER FRACTAL UNIT. A FRACTAL UNIT HAS TWO ACTIVE TRIANGLES AND ONE PASSIVE TETRAHEDRON. THE PASSIVE TETRAHEDRON HOLDS THE UNIT TOGETHER WHILE THE ACTIVE TETRAHEDRON PROVIDES THE FACES FOR THE FORM TO GROW.
