Stanger Heights Volleyball Club under the guidance of never-saydie attitude of coach Neren 'Bob' Reddy and assisted by the dynamic Sandhir 'Tin Boy' Jugmohan came from behind to stun log leaders TVGB in the league game played last Thursday at the association courts at Stanger High. Heights, made of scholars not only brought the high riding favourites for league honours, they also brought an end to their winning streak. TVGB had won the Xpress Times Easter tournament and the mid-season tournament and where undefeated in the league. Praise must go to Bob and Tin Boy for instilling in these lads the attitude of playing in a big match and not being intimidated. The game was evenly poised

with TVGB showing their experience to clinch the first set. The second set was a rude awakening as Heights VC shell shocked their more experienced opponents who had no answers. Man of the match Dillon John was in devastating form, with towering blocks, powerful jump serves and thunderous attacks which TVGB had no answer for. Yeshodan Pillay provided excellent support with pin point setting. Neren Bob Reddy looked like he never left the courts with thunderous attacking and his never say die attitude. Andrishan Gopaul showed his metal with huge blocks at a crucial point in the 3rd set. The other two Gopaul brothers along with Captain Kevin Sooriah played a crucial role and covered the court,

keeping TVGB frustrated. Heights VC predominantly made up of players that are playing for the first time showed that they have BMT (big match temperament) and are a team on the rise. TVGB defeat has thrown the league wide open with title aspirants and reigning champions, Darnall United all smiles after winning their double header. Darnall won their first game 2-0 against Manor Old Boys without breaking a sweat. However the sweat broke in the second game after they went down to Sunbrook 26-25. After the break and few words from manager Sam Moonsamy, Darnall gained momentum and team spirit, thumping Sunbrook 25-10 in the 2nd set. Darnall took a early lead in the final set (8-4) and never turned back winning 15-10. Coach of Darnall, Samuel Moonsamy believes the league is back in their sights
