National minister visits Darnall

By Xpress Reporter

The national security minister, Siyabonga Cwele, visited the residents of Darnall along with local ANC branch officials on Friday, 7 February 2014. Cwele and officials did a walkabout, amidst rainfall, even visiting homes; meeting members of the community and discussing issues. One resident handed a packet of chillies and butternut to the minister as a symbol of goodwill. The minister was taken aback and offered his great smile and appreciation at the kind gesture and mentioned that he was quite touched. One resident, Mrs Kisten, pointed out that her main concern was the recent poor quality of water. She even collected some water in a plastic bottle and pointed out

the dirt that had settled at the bottom. Councillor Sandeep Oudhram, was on the phone immediately with iLembe officials who then provided the minister with their explanation. It was explained that the infrastructure which was old was becoming problematic as it was being serviced through the Darnall sugar mill to the residents. iLembe District Municipality, KwaDukuza Municipality and the Darnall

Ex resident of Darnall, Tarzan Naicker thanked the minister for taking time off his busy schedule to visit and meet with the community to assess their needs and problems. According to another resident, Naicker and Oudhram have opened “their doors to the residents regarding any issues the community of Darnall may experience and need assistance with.”

Mill are currently in negotiations to find resolution. The minister visited various homes and businesses and mentioned that he had a fairly good grasp of the grass root issues and would present a report to president Zuma. Councillor Oudhram pointed out that it was quite phenomenal that the minister was a true people's person in that during his interaction with community members.

NLB funds Welfare close to a million By Xpress Reporter

The Child Welfare SA: KwaDukuza has been allocated a grant of R962 000.00 from the National Lotteries Board (NLB) which will sustain the society for the 2013/ 2014 financial years. According to Senior Social Work Manager, Miss Penny Dhaver, the funds were approved for the following items and projects: operational costs, HIV/AIDS programmes, the Domestic Workers Empowerment Programme, safe house facility, social relief for indigent children, staff training and development programmes. “The Domestic Workers Empowerment programme was initiated in 1997 and involves training of unemployed women and men in domestic work. Approximately 250 students graduate annually. They secure employment as domestic workers, child care workers, waitresses and office assistants,” she said. She added that the income generated helps to improve their

D

quality of life. The project has been successfully sustained for 17 years. The safe house facility was initiated in 2011 and is a safe haven for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Dhaver said that with the high rate of child abuse and abandoned children, the safe house is an essential facility in KwaDukuza. With the funds from the National Lotteries Board, the society will be able to sustain the safe house and the Domestic Workers Empowerment programme. “The allocation of funds is a clear indication that the society complies with requirements of the National Lotteries Board in terms of service delivery. It is also an acknowledgement of the vital role the Society plays in the social upliftment of the community,” said Dhaver. The Senior Social Work Manager on behalf of the management committee and staff of the Child Welfare placed on record their sincere appreciation to the National Lotteries Board for the generous allocation of the grant.

The gun run An attack on illegal guns in the area last week saw several arrests by police. Wiseman Daddyboy Mbonambi (40) was found in possession of a 9mm pistol with a filed serial number and 8 rounds of ammunition. He is due in court next week to seek bail. Mbuso Siyanda Bhodoza (30) of Ntshawini was found in possession of a 9mm Luger and six rounds of ammunition. He is due in court on 4 March after being granted bail. Mapo Ephraim Mbhele (27) of Umlazi was found in possession of a 9mm pistol and four rounds of ammunition. He is expected to seek bail this week. Shelezile Mahlaba (39) was found in possession of a .38 pistol and eight bullets. He was remanded in custody at Glendale. Lungelo Zulu (18) was arrested for being in possession of a 7.65 pistol and 1 round of ammunition. However, the youngster

escaped on the morning of his court arrest as he was being loaded into a vehicle to take him to court. The public are urged to phone a reliable officer or the crime stop number to report such incidents to ensure a safer environment. Honour amongst thieves When a three man gang planned a robbery on the home of Princess Mthmebu, one pulled out of the crime. The two broke into the house and held Princess and her boyfriend at knife-point before fleeing with cellphones, cash and a fan. The following day, the third gang member on hearing about the incident alerted police. As a result of his information, Lucky Majenje (35) and Phumlani Shandu (40) were arrested. Both appeared in court on Monday and were remanded in custody until next week to apply for bail.

Mistrust Khulekani Ndebele of Tugela alleges that he requested Njabulo Mthiyane (21) to help him cut a client's grass as his machine was out of order. When they ran out of petrol, Mthiyane went to make arrangements to finish the job. Upon his return, an argument broke out with Mthiyane accusing Ndebele of doing work at another property during his absence. So outraged was Mthiyane that he began assaulting Ndebele with a stick causing injuries to his face. Mthiyane handed himself over to police and appeared in court on Monday. His case was adjourned to a date to allow both parties to discuss the issue. Cheaper to steal With fuel prices rocketing out of control some have resorted to stealing and supplying. Pro farm at Groutville decided to place guards on foot patrol. This move paid dividends when Ntokozo Ngubane and his men found 3 x 25l containers of diesel which was hidden not far from the tractors. They waited

patiently for the “owner” to claim his property. Their patience was duly rewarded when after four hours Mandla Gumede (35), a driver from the farm, came to pick up his diesel. He is expected back at court next week to plead or seek bail.

No-go zone Penelope Magwaza could barely believe her good fortune. She alleges that she was entering her residence at Glenhills last Thursday when she was accosted by two youths who assaulted her and fled with her laptop and cellphones. An hour later, police contacted her with her property. The youths were stopped by the members of the CPF at Ntshawini who were suspicious of the valuables they had in their possession. After questioning them they conceded to robbing Magwaza and handed them over to the SAPS. Sphiwesenkosi Zungu (24) and Nkosikhona Msomi (20) appeared in court on Monday on charges of robbery. They are expected to appear in court this week to seek bail.

An appeal is made to all businessman and residents for their co-operation and assistance. The shopping complex area, Manor Primary School parking lot area and Manor Drive needs regular clean up. Some residents are also guilty of dumping their refuse where ever they like. This is unacceptable and attitudes must change for the overall wellbeing of the ward.

Although skips are placed at the bus terminal area it is abused by residents who dump their tree trimming instead of refuse. It complicates the entire operational side. Street children scavenge and it has become home to them which further adds problems to already existing problems. On a daily basis we try to manage the situation but it is getting out of hand. on site meetings with officials from the Municipality is not fruitful despite one cleaner placed full time. I want to suggest we employ one more person full time to clean around the shopping complex and areas that needs attention. I will personally oversee the operations and supervise on a daily basis. Some landlords are not cleaning around their buildings while many tenants have also neglected their shop frontage. All this can change with your assistance. If 15 to 20 persons contribute R100 each we can get the clean- up campaign started immediately. Let's partner and make a difference where we live. Congratulations!

Jewel Box KwaDukuza was introduced to Jewel Box back in 1974 by the late Mr A.S Desai and his wife Farida Desai. The store made its mark as a popular jewellery and watch repair shop some 40 years ago, and gained loyal patrons who offer unwavering support to this day. Currently, the store is run by Mrs Farida Desai and her son, Faizel, and the same professionalism is maintained. Jewel Box has engraved its legacy in KwaDukuza, and

according to Mrs Desai, their aim has always been to please customers and give them the quality and custom designed jewellery they require, whether it is an engagement ring or an elaborate wedding set. 'Skilled craftsmanship is what we pride in,' said Mrs Desai. She also mentioned her gratitude to longstanding employee, Debbie, who ensures the smooth-running of the store. “We thank our loyal customers for the support throughout the years,” said Mrs Desai.

QUEEN OF SPELLS

MAAMA SHANAN Control your destiny or someone else will You too can change your life as Rasheema Naidoo from Stanger is testifying. After 15 years of suffering, we are now happily married and successful. For 15 years I lived in an abusive marriage, but after reading and listening to various testimonials about MAAMA SHANAN in the papers and on radio. I called her and I visited her at her home. I paid R200 and she performed a very special prayer for me. “I was shocked when she told me accurately all my past and present problems and revealed that my husband was in a relationship with another lady”. She then showed me the other lady in the mirror. MAAMA SHANAN helped me to separate my husband from the other lady and made all my enemies confess all the bad things they had done to my family. I am more in love with my husband and our financial challenges have stopped. I recommend others to visit her and get solutions to their problems.

Find MAAMA SHANAN at her private home in Stanger after Spar at Balcomb Street. Call 083 957 1059. Financial difficulties, poverty, employment, court cases, business, love, family, health and sexual problems etc.

AFTER SUFFERING IN PAIN FOR SO MANY YEARS, MAMA SHEILLAH SOLVED MY PROBLEMS Mrs. Moodley (48 Years) from Stanger. My husband of 4 kids was so abusive, drinking and smoking too much. Sometimes he could go out with his friends with women. I read a love sms from his phone and I phoned the lady. From that time I realised he was also cheating on me. He was not buying groceries and not helping at all. A friend of mine referred me to MAMA SHEILLAH who she said MAMA SHEILLAH helped her with husband to come back. I decided to consult MAMA SHEILLAH who read all my problems. She prayed for me and gave me a small potion to use at home. Within three days my husband stopped his abusive ways and confessed that he had an affair but he has stopped. We now live together happily. Thank you MAMA SHEILLAH. R.Maharaj (52 Years) My neighbours were so jealous of my success, I was a successful businessman but every morning I would see bones wrapped in a red cloth with Muthi. My company was loosing tenders, I sold 4 of my trucks, I sold my bakkie in one year my business collapsed was losing tenders, I had so many debts until I read an article in the newspaper about MAMA SHEILLAH award winner for healing. I decided to phone her. She booked an appointment before I could say anything she told me that I have financial hardships and it’s because my neighbour is jealous. I broke into tears and sat down. She cleansed me and told me to stay away from my neighbour for one week. I went back and told her and she prayed for me. After 3 months my business started to pick up and now I opened up another branch and I paid all my debts and I bought a new house. Now I am living a happy life with my family. Those suffering like me try her for better results. Thank you MAMA SHEILLAH

MAMA SHEILLAH is the award winner of East, Central and Southern Africa spiritual healers 1986 & 2001. Try her for all love, sexual financial and family problems. She won’t let you down. Shes is 100% quality work

Congo warlord 'played key role in massacres' (Aljazeera) A Congolese warlord widely known as "the Terminator" ordered troops, including child soldiers, to massacre and rape civilians to spread terror and grab territory, prosecutors told the International Criminal Court. The crimes were committed against the Lendu population and other ethnic groups in a bid to drive them out of the Ituri region over 12 months from September 2002, said the prosecutor. Vigilantes vs. narcos (Reuters) - Clutching shotguns, rifles and battered submachine guns, dozens of vigilantes prepare to head out on patrol in this rugged corner of restive western Mexico, where they are at war with a drug cartel. The motley crew of renegades organize themselves into a neat line of pick-ups and luxury SUVs by the side of the road in the hamlet of Buenavista. Moments later, an armored convoy of federal police passes by.

PRESS WORLD Making the world local

Shirley Temple dies (CNN) - Shirley Temple Black, who rose to fame as arguably the most popular child star in Hollywood history, died late Monday night, her publicist said. She was 85. Temple Black, who also enjoyed a long career as a diplomat, died of natural causes at her Woodside, California, home. She was surrounded by family and caregivers, a statement from Cheryl Kagan said. She began acting at age 3 and became a massive box-office draw before turning 10, commanding a then-unheard of salary of $50,000 per movie. Her first film of notice was in 1932 when she played in "War Babies," part of the "Baby Burlesks" series of short films.

Essence of Life Four Lies You Need to Stop Telling Yourself If you break your leg, you cannot play football. If you are blind, your eyes cannot see. These circumstances are self-evident. However, what you say to yourself about the circumstances of your life are the lies that keep you limited. Here are a few we tell ourselves. 1. "I'm just the way I am." This is a whopper. You are not "just the way you are" in a moment of fear, for example, any more than you are "just the way you are" in a moment of joy. "You" is not a single thing, like a rock. "You" are a powerful, complex, dynamic collection of parts. Every personality, including yours, has many different parts. Some of them are painful and destructivesuch as anger, resentment and jealousyand some of them are blissful and constructivesuch as gratitude, appreciation and caring. You experience different emotions as different parts of your personality come and go. Sometimes, the part of your personality that is activated is anger. At other times, the part that is jealousy is activated, and at still other times, the part that is contentment is activated. When you are not aware of these parts, they control you, and you think, "This is just the way I am." When you are aware of these different parts, you can choose not to act on those that are painful and destructive, and instead to act on those that are healthy and constructive. For example, when you are angry, you can choose to act with patience. This is not easy to do, but how easy is it to live a life of isolation and loneliness caused by your anger? 2. "I am unlucky." This is a way of saying to yourself, "Things happen in my life that do not serve me." If you were able to tell yourself the truth, you would say to yourself, each time something happens that you do not want, "Everything that happens in my life happens for a reason, and that reason has to do with my spiritual development." Nothing in my life is random or by chance. All my experiences give me the opportunity to choose differently than I did before, to choose anew instead of recreating what I have created in the past with my choices. There is no "luck" involved in your life. There is only, and always, the compassion and wisdom of the Universe. 3. "This world is too much for

me." This sentence prevents you from realizing that your experiences are always perfect for you, given the wisdom of the choices you have made. Every circumstance and interaction requires you to choose to act in fear (as you have done unconsciously before) or to act in love, consciously (acts of love are always conscious). You will have opportunities to act in love and to create a world of love with your choices until you die and your soul returns home. Each time you say, "This world is too much for me," you squander one. You will always have others, but why wait to begin using them? 4. "I don't have a reason for living." This may be the biggest lie of all. Your soul has gifts to give, and you were born to give them. They may include raising a family, creating a business that incorporates the power of the heart, teaching children how to recognize love and fear in themselves and to choose love instead of fear. Giving the gifts that your soul wants to give always requires learning how to do that yourself. You have a sacred contract with the Universe, and no one can fulfill it except you. When you do, meaning and purpose flow into your life like a river flows into the ocean. Joy replaces fear, gratitude replaces jealousy, appreciation replaces anger and you bloom like a flower in the spring. That spring is always now, even when you feel that you are enveloped in an unending winter. Your life has a purpose, and everything in it serves that purpose. That purpose is to align your personality with your soul and to give the gifts that your soul longs to give. You do not disappoint the Universe when you tell yourself these lies and other lies that keep you limited. You keep yourself limited, and you live in the painful experiences of fear. When you recognize these lies, you can begin to replace them with truths. Here are some truths you can replace them with: All my experiences are perfect for my spiritual growth. I was born to create authentic power. I am a powerful and creative, compassionate and loving spirit. Oprah.com Disclaimer: All information and answers are given for educational purposes only. Our sincere condolences to Don and Deon of Siyazama / Georges Construction on the loss of their dear Mum who passed away on 11/02/14... May God Almighty make it easy on the family. The funeral will take place at their residence in Stanger and thereafter at the crematorium.

Home Address : Corner of Geranium and Zinnia Street, Stanger Time : 11am to 2pm

Water interruptions will soon be a thing of the past for the communities of Stanger Manor and Zinkwazi (Ward 17 and 3 in KwaDukuza) thanks to the upcoming KwaDukuza Pipe Replacement Project. The purpose of the project is to replace and upgrade ageing water reticulation infrastructure which is in poor condition and to provide a safe and reliable water network to KwaDukuza. Last Wednesday, 5 February and Thursday 6 February 2014, the iLembe District Municipality (IDM) held a public meeting in Zinkwazi and Stanger Manor respectively to introduce the project to ratepayers and residents. On Wednesday at the Ocean Reef Hotel in Zinkwazi, iLembe District Municipality Councillor Welcome Mdabe told residents that more than R200 million was owed to the municipality by ratepayers. “We have more than 45 000 consumers on our system and only 3% pay rates and on top of that there are areas in Maphumulo and Ndwedwe that do not have access to water. These are all the challenges that we have to deal with as the municipality,” he said.

In Zinkwazi, a budget of R14, 2 million has been allocated for the Replacement Project and work is expected to commence in the first week of May 2014 and finish November 2014. An estimated number of 501 households are expected to benefit. On Thursday evening at the Stanger Manor Library, the Speaker of iLembe, Councillor Thokozani Msweli revealed that a budget of R14.2 million for High Ridge and R32.2 million for Stanger Heights respectively has been allocated for the replacement project. The honourable Speaker said a total number of 1 364 households are expected to benefit and work is also expected to start in May and end in November. “There will be planned shutdowns during the project and as the District we will try to keep the water interruptions to at least a few hours and not days. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in this regard,” said the Speaker. The primary objectives of the project is to reduce water loss, service interruptions, water supply costs and to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.

The jubilant Warriors Sports team after their crushing defeat of Manor in a T20 clash

In a T20 match played on Saturday at Gledhow, Warriors Sport locked horns with Manor C. Manor C won the toss and wisely put Warriors in to field first taking advantage of Warriors only being able to field six players. Manager, Rajiv Mathapershad was forced to come out of retirement and take the field to make up the minimum player requirements. Warriors went straight in on the attack with Martin Naicker claiming the first wicket in the second over. Skipper Riaz Mahomed together with vice captain Rishen Mathapershad, brought in spinners Aden Munsamy and Austin Govender in the fifth over. This was a brilliant move which saw the Manor batting order crumbling at regular intervals. Even with Manor's skipper, as the square leg umpire on his cell making a call for rain did not get answered. Z Maharaj was the only batsman reaching double digits with 12 runs. Manor ended their innings on 55/10 in the 19th over, with Warriors

making up for lost time due to a delayed start. Fortunately for Warriors, the rest of their players arrived in the 8th over. Mujahed Ahmed was the most economical bowler with 2/3/4, Aden Munsamy 3/4/4 and 2/11/4. In reply the Tangerine Mafias reached their target of 56/1 in the 10th over humiliating Manor C, with opener Keagan Govender on 13 not out and Mujahed Ahmed 27 not out who was in scintillating form dedicated his Man of the Match award to the memory of his cousin Rizwan Khan, who tragically lost his life on Friday. Our prayers and thoughts are with the bereaved family. In other T20 cricket played, Manor B defeated Doringkop, Oceanville B defeated Ngkobongo and Magnum defeated Warriors International. On Sunday, Magnum crushed Warriors Inter by 5 wickets in the 50 over league game. Warriors won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. T. Malik and S. Ahmad

got off to a flyer amassing 44 without loss after 10 overs. Kimon Padayachee got S. Ahmad (14) out in the 11th over and Joe Gengan took a further 2 wickets leaving Warriors on 55/3 after 16 overs. T. Malik looked dangerous and kept the scoreboard ticking taking the score to 90/5 when he was clean bowled by L. Luke for a well played 43. Skipper of Magnum, I. Hemraj then wrapped the innings up claiming 5 wickets in 6.3 overs for 17 runs. Warriors scored 90 all out with 6 ducks in their innings. Magnum began their run chase with a solid start form Gavin Govender (12) and Kimon Padayachee (11). Warriors picked up 3 quick wickets to have Magnum at 28/3 after 17 overs. Kyle Padayachee (12) was out in the 25th over with the score on 61/5. L. Luke 32 not out ( 2x4, 2x6 ) and Calvin Pillay 11 not out combined well to give Magnum an emphatic 5 wicket win over Warriors Inter reaching the target in the 32nd over.

I am NTOMBIFUTHI MKHIZE a mother of three aged 36 born in Ladysmith but now I live in Soweto and my contact number is 078 0600 796. I have been reading different testimonies in various newspapers for people that Baba Dube helped through their testimonies to be sure because I lost lots of money to different sangomas, doctors and herbalists who promised me to help me through my financial and love problems that I suffered for many years. But everyone I called gave me 100% promise and guarantee that Baba Dube will change my life like the way he did to them. Early in the morning I called him and he gave me different ways but I chose the SHORT BOYS to put R500.000 in my bank account. It happened exactly the way he said it and I paid him R100.000. After that I was very excited and asked him if I can use MAGIC WALLET to get R10,000 everyday and he promised to deliever within 24hrs so that he can show me how it works to get R10.000 everyday and asked me to pay him R30,000 per week from the R70,000 that I get everyweek for only a year . To thank Baba Dube, I introduced him to myy uncle and his wife and they chose to win LOTTO and POWERBALL. Baba Dube gave them their lucky numbers appearing on the 10th spetmeber powerball draw while his wife won the lotto on the 18th September. They both paid him 30% of their winnings. Now they use RATS tobring money into the house everyday and they pay every week. I published this testimony to thank Baba Dube for changing my life and also to inform everybody who got serious financial problems and love problems to contact Baba Dube now before you waste your money to herbalist and doctors who promise to help but fail and leave you in bigger problems than before. TIME TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE WIITH GREAT BABA DUBE I wish I knew great Baba Dube a long time ago. I would have not wasted a lot of money by visiting lots of herbalists and doctors including Sangoma’s to sort my financial problems. I decided to visit him with my wife and my brother in law, after I heard about him through my colleague who he helped bring her husband back after 3 years of seperation and he gave us different ways but I chose the magic wallet that brings me R10 000.00 everyday and I pay him R30 000.00 every week from the R70 000.00 that I get every week (7days) and my wife chose the short boys to put money in her bank account but it was like a miracle to see R200 000.00 in her account that Baba Dube used his short boys to put money in the account and she paid him R50 000.00 while my brother in law chose to win the Lotto and Baba Dube used his powers to see the lucky numbers appearing on the draw and he won the draw and he told him to pay 30% from that money he won, There is no way we Tshabalala family can thank him other than informing the people who got financial problems about him. Local hikers conquer Kilimanjaro for Madiba and Rhinos Six brave hearted adventurers from the Smurfs hiking club pushed for the ultimate summit of Africa, the highest freestanding mountain in the world and one of the largest volcanoes in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. 5 February 2014 at 7:15am, dreams were realised when all of the six successfully summited Uhuru peak Kilimanjaro at a staggering altitude of 19340ft (5895m). Having faced six gruelling days of hail, rain, heavy snowfall, severe ultra violet rays, high altitude sickness, these

local heroes pushed beyond all odds to realise this dream. Psychological endurance, physical stamina and shear endurance of the elements was put to the ultimate test. The smurfers said that the inspiration of their late beloved Tata Madiba has left an impressionable legacy that they hope to spread from the pinnacle of Africa. Equally they hope that the message for support for the anti rhino poaching campaign can equally be heard from the summit of Africa.

“iLembe Coaching Academy” to reignite cricket The founder of the iLembe Coaching Academy, Deliaylan Subrayan, is set to bring local cricket to forefront in 2014. According to Subrayan, a resident of KwaDukuza, his assessment is that the iLembe District region is behind in terms of many aspects of cricket compared to other areas within the province. “My motivation behind starting this cricket coaching academy is because I feel that iLembe needs to catch up with the level of cricket elsewhere,” he said. Subrayan has been accredited with a level one coaching certificate, a level C umpiring certificate from Cricket South Africa (CSA) and is a KFC Mini cricket coordinator. He is also affiliated to the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union Coaches Association and has direct contact with the KZN Cricket Union's Dolphin Academy. “My passion is to also develop girl's cricket,” said Subrayan. The Morningside Cricket Team player also aims to develop an “iLembe Elite Squad up to and including 16-years of age.” Children from up to and including 16-years of age, who are interested, can report to the Country Club Ground on Saturday, 15 February 2014 at 9am for registration. Contact: Deliaylan Subrayan on 083 335 1668 for further information.
