reSound™ Made with bio-derived polymers, designed for durable applications. Unlike neat biopolymers, such as PLA, reSound™ compounds will meet or exceed performance requirements for durable applications previously considered out of reach for bio-based materials. reSound™ offers sustainable solutions and can help customers differentiate their products.

DESIGN

7-8”

With the various types of tablets used, we needed to come up with a clean and clever design, compatible and interchangeable with a wide range of tablets. We came up with a (now patented) system, which makes our XD Design tablet holders universal for 7-8” tablets, and for 9-10” tablets. The product sketches show were the ideas of the patented universal clip system were born.

rPET is recycled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) from sources such as soda bottles. The material is cleaned thoroughly, ground and reused as raw materials in the production of rPET. The advantage of this material is that it more environmentally friendly.

• 90% lower carbon footprint than nylon. • 75% lower carbon footprint than polyester. • 50% lower carbon footprint than organic cotton

REMAKING THE WAY WE MAKE THINGS What does Cradle to Cradle mean? The term Cradle To Cradle is used to describe a sustainability model which is imitative of natural processes, with the goal to create production techniques that are not just In cradle to cradle production all material inputs and outputs are seen either as technical or biological nutrients. Technical nutrients can be recycled or reused with no loss of quality and biological nutrients composted or consumed. By contrast cradle to grave refers to taking responsibility for the disposal of goods it has produced, but not necessarily putting products’ constituent components back into service.

What does Cradle to Cradle mean for us? with the design briefing of a new product. One already has to think about how the product can best be recycled at the end of its lifecycle. But we also have to be realistic, our production processes and our consumption behaviour are still very much one-time use orientated. So ‘cradle to cradle’ thinking and acting are learning processes and like every new initiative they start with small steps! All those small steps will together lead to a substantial contribution to a more environmental friendly world.
