Andes colours, desert and high vineyards Tucumรกn, Salta, Catamarca & Jujuy, Argentina 12 days / 11 nights

Andes colours, desert and high vineyards For landscape lovers. Blend into infinite horizons! We have designed this trip for you to travel the Andes Mountains in depth, at their widest and driest point. Throughout this journey you move from a temperate agriculture valley to a village set in the desert at the foot of coloured hills; driving through a cloud forest to get there. On the next day, the road takes you across salt flats and extreme deserts made of wind carved lava flows and sand dunes. A couple of days later, a change in scenery invites you to walk in green pastures using a Jesuit estancia as base. After that, moving north on magical Route 40, your next destination is yet another estancia where learning the secrets of the high altitude wines, among which Malbec and TorrontĂŠs are the flagship grapes of the region, is only one of your activities. After this trip you will have seen the best of the Argentine NW mountain area, combined with Andean style gourmet cooking, learnt about gaucho traditions and enjoyed remarkable walks.

Day 8

The Jesuit Heritage

High altitude wines

Forget the vehicle and enjoy a full day at the Estancia, where a half day to hike or horseback ride, a chance to learn about gaucho life, how to make cheese or relax are different options to choose from.

We will drive from green to red, where you will explore marvellous geological formations in the Quebrada de Las Conchas, one of the most outstanding landscapes in Argentina, and to know it better, we will take you hiking into it.

Day 9

Day 10

WHO WE ARE We are from NW Argentina and have travelled the region on foot, bike, horse, motorbike, 4WD, mule, train and local bus. Sharing, as we do, the same ideals about responsible travel, conservation and high quality standards, we decided to work together combining our knowledge so as to create authentic travel experiences. Having spent many years on guiding trips and spending time “in the field” with very special clients, and this and the fact that we live where we work, means we are able to show Argentina from an insider's point of view. We want to deliver a great South American experience to travellers seeking adventure excellence and fun.

OUR DIRECTOR Ana Ines Figueroa was born in Salta, Argentina in 1966. A Certified Fitness Instructor, horsewoman and hiker; she developed a passion for travel while visiting Europe, Africa and the wonders of South America. After extensively visiting the USA, she came back to Argentina and has worked as a guide and trip designer for many renown international adventure and luxury travel companies. She is also a writer, having written in both Spanish and English the texts for the photographic books by Ossian Lindholm: Argentina’s North, in 2005; and Ischigualasto, the Valley of the Moon and Talampaya, in 2006 and The Calchaquí Valley (2008). And in 2007, The Spirit of the North, with photos by Jasmine Rossi. This unique combination of guide, fitness savvy and writer is united with a desire to show this land and share its secrets. The result is original and down to earth trips. She lives in the city of Salta, NW Argentina with her three children and husband, the photographer Ossian Lindholm.

WHY DESERT & JUNGLE All our trips have a story; no itinerary is a simple collection of kilometres and great places. Every location has a reason to be in an itinerary. Once we know what our future client wants: wine, mountains, history, high mountain climbing, cuisine, comfort, roughing it, or a bit of everything we will design the itinerary that best fits our clients’ desires. Our trips specialize in the core, the heart, of the South American continent, that is our home. From Salta and the Andes valleys, we can also take you to the Iberá wetlands, the Atacama desert, Uyuni salt flat, Cusco and Puno, or Pantanal; just to mention a few destinations hidden in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Chile. Or Buenos Aires from inside, a polo clinic, the wines and great hikes of Mendoza, a photosafari in Patagonia.

Once in South America, the possibilities are endless. Let us show you.
