About Us Xavier International Montessori School(XIMS) is a beautiful Montessori based school with large and well equipped indoor and outdoor space, providing a stimulating and exciting environment for the children in our care. XIMS caters for full-time children between the ages of three months and five years and the XIMS day runs from 8.00 am to 2.30 pm Mondays to Fridays throughout the year with short breaks. A high quality service is offered, using qualified staff and parents can have confidence that their children are being well cared for at all times.

Our Ethos We aim to provide pre-school education and care for children to a very high standard and very much hope that parents and children will be happy. At XIMS, children play and learn in a warm, caring environment. We respect children’s dignity and independence and personal responsibility and co-operation is promoted.  Individuals are expected to demonstrate a caring attitude to other children and staff members and to assist the teachers wherever possible in caring for others and the nursery environment. We provide children with access to a full curriculum and the nursery aims to provide a solid foundation for entry into primary schools. When children leave us, we aim for them to be socially adept, have a passion for learning, be caring and respectful towards others and confident in their own abilities.


Montessori - developing happy children Our Montessori programme is designed to fully prepare children for their next stage of schooling. Our pre-school aims to lead children to achieve a number of Early Learning Goals. These are grouped under six broad areas of learning: Personal, social and emotional development, Communication, language and literacy, Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy, Knowledge and understanding of the world, creative development and physical development. Our Montessori classrooms are characterised by an emphasis on order, cleanliness and harmony. Classrooms are arranged to facilitate movement from one activity area to the other. Our trained Montessori teachers encourage children in different activities, making sure that only material which supports the learning development of the child is included. So no cluttered classrooms or walls at XIMS! Our Montessori classroom materials include activities for engaging in practical skills - such as pouring and spooning; materials for the development of the senses, mathematical materials, language materials, music and art materials.

TODDLERS

L.K.G.

Min. Age: 1Yr. & 6 Months

Min.Age: 4 Yr

Our Toddler caters for children between 1.5 and 2.5 years. We take great pride in our friendly, nurturing and happy baby suite which for the Babies is home from home. Each child is unique and we respect individual care routines that may have been established at home. Each child is allocated a named key person as a main career building and maintaining effective relationships with children.

Our LKG caters for children between 3 and 4 years.children move into the preschool phase of their nursery education.Our Montessori uses the famous Montessori approach, aimed at achieving the correct balance of physical, social and intellectual stimulation for young children.

Nursery Min. Age: 3 Yr.

U.K.G.

Our Nursery caters for children between 2 and 3 years. Children will have a gentle introduction to nursery routines during their daily play and learning activities. Each day there are opportunities for children to socially interact with each other developing their understanding of sharing and turn taking as part of a small group. Storytelling, music sessions and role play activities all promote good language and listening skills.

Our UKG caters for children between 4 and 5 years. Within a child centered environment, children can develop confidently at their own pace, and an equal opportunities policy is practiced for all children.

Curriculum Our curriculum is planned using the Montessori philosophy and principles guided by the statutory requirements of the Early Childhood development Digdarshan (Curriculum) -2062 Published by Department of Education. It aims to help young children achieve the five ‘Every Child Matters (ECM)’ outcomes, which are: Staying Safe; Being Healthy; Enjoying and Achieving; Making a Positive Contribution; and Achieving Economic Well Being. Young children learn best by doing and by being involved, so the Montessori possesses a wide range of manipulative equipment designed to promote effective and enjoyable learning. Social and physical development too, is not over-looked. We place emphasis on developing an ‘inquiring mind’ and ‘love of learning’ through sustained shared thinking, and set the foundations for the more academic skills in Arithmetic and Language. The school day is carefully balanced so that children have time to be active, time to play and be noisy, time to be quiet, time to listen, time to concentrate, and time to rest.

Science Selection Water the pots and the flowers will bloom, I will be a butterfly soon, How does this happen and why and when, We find out in the science (scientific) selection.

Splash Splash It’s a hot sunny day lets be ducks today! You quack and I will splash you!

Garden Path Flowers and grass and lots of laughs, As we take a walk through the garden path.

Broad Areas of Learning

We follow the six areas for Learning held within the Montessori Curriculum for Early Years: Children Birth to Five years of age are in the Foundation Stage of learning, this is recognized as a separate stage of learning, laying the foundations for when children begin more formal education.

Faculties The quality of teachers makes the key difference in our child’s learning process. There is a team of dedicated, experienced, warm, responsible, enthusiastic, and well prepared teachers and support staff who have at least one thing in common - a love and passion of working with children and make a positive impact on the lives of young children. The teachers are well qualified and trained in early childhood education. These dedicated staff goes through an extensive ongoing training program that gives them a thorough understanding of our standards and curriculum. They create experiences appropriate for each child, ask stimulating questions, provide challenges, and help children find new answers and new opportunities.

Admission Applying for a place at XIMS is straightforward. We ask that you first make an appointment to view the School and meet the staff to ensure that you like what we have to offer. Then simply complete and return the application form - we keep this initial form simple and only ask for the minimal information at this stage. Once we have received the form, we will let you know if we can offer you the placement that you require, on the date that you want. Initial letters are sent from the nursery to your physical address. We require you to supply us with an email address as subsequent communication is carried out by email, including invoices.
