Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter The Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter recently held elections. The new officers are President, Troy D. Gray, Sr. ’87; 1st Vice-President, Carol Jenkins-Gaye ’81; Recording Secretary, Gwendolyn LaCroix ’70; Corresponding Secretary, Dwana Bush Cordova ’95; and Treasurer, Cedric Falgout ’77. On Saturday, May 21 the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter hosted a crawfish boil. Members of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter continue to assist Xavier University in recruiting from the Dallas area by participating in numerous college fairs. For more information regarding the Dallas/Ft. Houston Chapter The Houston Chapter hosted its annual St. Katharine Drexel Feast Day celebration with mass at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church followed by brunch. In December, the Chapter hosted its sixth annual Mardi Gras in December; proceeds from this event will benefit the University’s Annual Fund. Currently the Houston Chapter is planning its Annual Alumni Weekend during August. Lake Charles Chapter The Lake Charles Alumni Chapter celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Katharine Drexel with a Mass on March 4, 2011 with the Alumni of Sacred Heart at Sacred Heart/St. Katharine Drexel School. On June 19, 2011 the Lake Charles Alumni Chapter hosted a Father’s Day Celebration at the Lake Charles Civic Center. The Chapter is currently assisting the University in its recruiting efforts by participating in area college fairs. New Orleans Chapter The New Orleans Chapter celebrated the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel with Mass at the University Chapel. On March 20, 2011 the Chapter hosted its annual Day at the Races to benefit its annual scholarship fund. The New Orleans Chapter has contributed over $10,000 in scholarship funds to Xavier students from the New Orleans area.
