Circus of Horrors

Do you have what it takes to beat your friends, family or colleagues and become the ultimate quiz master? Entry includes a meat or vegetarian curry, drinks offers throughout the evening, the quiz and some top notch prizes!

Following the success of last year’s show, this spectacle has had a revamp and is even more rocking and shocking. The story will take the audience on a journey through the Circus of Horror incarnations.

Old Dog, New Tricks

Having amused the nation in the I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! jungle and fearlessly taken on bush tucker trials, the time has come for Jenny to get back on the road and do what she does best. Nearly a whole dress size smaller, the Perrier Award winner and selfappointed Grumpy Head Girl Jenny Eclair has extended her critically acclaimed tour Old Dog, New Tricks by 50 dates in 2011. Jenny is fifty years old which in dog years would qualify for The Guinness Book of Records, having recently been de-wormed and with her teeth newly bleached, she’ll be prancing around the Wyvern stage, basically doing her comedy tricks for a ‘nice biscuit and maybe a glass of Chardonnay’. ‘David Grindley’s superb production – arouses emotions that go too deep for words’ Daily Telegraph

Based on the author’s own experience of the Front and life in the trenches, it celebrates humour and courage in the face of certain tragedy, and remains an important reminder of the horrors of war and the real, unromanticised heroes who fought it. As our young men continue to fight and die for their country in foreign fields, this tale of ordinary men facing extraordinary circumstances exposes the impact of war past and present and why in remembrance their sacrifices cannot be forgotten. We’ll Meet Again Dylan Moran

Swindon Literature Festival presents

Matinees as they should be…

Harry Hill – Livin the Dreem!

Audiences can relive the spirit of the 1940s in a wonderful afternoon performance of ‘Hits from the Blitz’, with lots of sing-a-long tunes that will bring back warm memories.

Dylan Moran star of Black Books, Shaun of the Dead and Run Fat Boy Run is about to spread a little happiness with a brand new tour for 2011.

The celebration show pays tribute to the legendary stars of the war years, Vera Lynn, Donald Peers, Gracie Fields, George Formby, Bing Crosby, and famous comedians, Max Miller and Tessie O’Shea.

Ageing, religion, kids, relationships intertwine with the general absurdities of life. Searing observations and sumptuous imagery, painted across a large fraying canvas with cruel, curmudgeonly ‘Moranesque’ brush strokes and all delivered with Dylan’s renowned, shambolic charm… It’s simply unmissable.
