Minibus Appeal Next years World Jamboree in Sweden will have a U.K. Food House manned by 50 people from all over the U.K. Many of which come from the Yorkshire Area. It is my responsibility to find ways of transporting these folk to Sweden and one option is to take a number of minibuses. Can any Group or District who own a bus help me in this task? The dates required are from July 22nd till August 10th 2011. I have made a detailed search of the local and national hire companies and it seems there is a blanket restriction in their policies to hire buses to take on the continent. If you vehicle does not have a tachograph then we could possibly help by fitting one as part of our hire arrangements with you. Many thanks for your thoughts, help and advice in supporting my task. I look forward to hearing from you. Neil Leatherland Procurement Manager U.K. Food House

Potential contact#2 I am a scuba diver and I am currently training to complete my Dive Master course which is the first professional stage within PADI (professional association of diving instructors). Outside of the diving community I work full time as an Occupational Therapist, however as part of my Dive Master course I am making new links to those who probably would not normally consider scuba diving as a hobby, and was wondering whether it would be something which some of the Scouts within Yorkshire might like to try (if they haven’t already)? The work I have been doing is very rewarding, and I belong to a dive school called Robin Hood Watersports in Heckmondwike. All our instructors are CRB checked, they are very experienced and supportive. I have been a qualified diver for over 2 years and have found the nature of this sport not only opens up a whole new world (I’ve made some amazing videos your scouts might like, of all kinds of underwater wildlife!).... it also promotes team work, trust, communication and practical implication of knowledge whilst learning about the value of safe boundaries.

The sessions we run range from discover scuba sessions (a morning in our pool with scuba gear, a comprehensive brief and lots of professional support) to training as an open water diver, and the sessions could be a fantastic way to get families involved. If this seems like the kind of thing which could provide something different and exciting for your scouts please feel free to contact me on 07972 58 3443 or Ella Tyson
