Thunderbirds Scramble for the Win in State Championship Football Game

Sometimes things just feel right. After stumbling in the opening game of the 2020 4A football season against Thunder Basin, the East High Thunderbirds worked hard to put everything in place and found themselves facing the Bolts again in the state title game. Led by two Players of the Year, the Thunderbirds evened up against Thunder Basin, winning a challenging, wind-swept game. ,Q WKH ÂżUVW URXQG RI WKH SOD\RIIV WKH T-Birds made a big statement by rolling the Laramie Plainsmen, 49-7. The Thunderbirds got six touchdown passes and a TD run from quarterback Graedyn %XHOO 7KH\ DOVR WRRN DGYDQWDJH RI ÂżYH turnovers by the Plainsmen that led to 27 points. The Laramie victory gave the T-Birds their ninth consecutive win. In the second week of the playoffs, The No. 1-ranked Thunderbirds gained 406 yards of total offense on their way to a 31-21 victory over the Sheridan Broncs. East started the game with a 79-yard drive which ended with an 8-yard touchdown pass

Photo Contest “Reectionsâ€? and Exhibit
Toys for Tots Leads Off the Christmas Parade
Community Recreation and Events, to host photo contest and exhibit beginning January 2021. The Community Recreation and Event (CRE) department “Reectionsâ€? Photo Contest and Exhibit will be held Thursday, January 7 through Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 West 20th Street. The “Reectionsâ€? theme is designed to showcase transformations which take place by looking at one picture while having a mirrored image. Photographers may enter in a variety of categories: Youth (12 and under, 13-17), Amateur, Intermediate, Semi-Professional, Professional and Enhanced Photography. The contest is limited to the ďŹ rst 150 photos. Awards will be given to ďŹ rst place winners and best of show. A walk through reception will be held Wednesday, January 6, for artists/families, from 5:30pm-7:00pm, at the Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 West 20th Street hosted by the Programs and Facilities division. Brochure/entry forms with detailed information may be picked up. Registration will be November 30-December 30, at the Kiwanis Community House, 4603 Lions Park Drive, 7:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Entry fee is $5.00 per photo; three entry max. Youth entries: ďŹ rst photo will be free (limit of 15 free entries in youth division). Photo Contest and Exhibit will be held Thursday, January 7 through Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Cheyenne Civic Center, 510 West 20th Street. The “Reectionsâ€? theme is designed to showcase transformations which take place by looking at one picture while having a mirrored image. Photographers may enter in a variety of categories: Youth (12 and under, 13-17), Amateur, Intermediate, Semi-Professional, Professional and Enhanced Photography. The contest is limited to the ďŹ rst 150 photos. Awards will be given to ďŹ rst place winners and best of show.
