WyoParks is offering Early Bird discounts on 2021 annual permits. Wyoming’s Division of State Parks and Historic sites is offering early bird discounts on annual day-use permits through February 15. Resident day-use passes are discounted to $42 (regularly $48) and non-resident permits are available for $89 (regularly $96). There are also several changes to the reservation system and availability of reservable campsites for the 2021 season. Residents can reserve campsites 120 days in advance. 2021 Reservation Season Dates: October 1-April 30, all campsites are ďŹ rst-come, ďŹ rstserve only (no reservations needed); May 1-September 30, reservation season. Visitors can reserve sites and buy permits online at www.wyo-park.com or permits can be purchased at any of WyoParks’ selling agent locations across the state.

CRMC ‘Wake Up to Heart Health’ Virtual Event Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) will host its 12th Annual “Wake Up to Heart Healthâ€? event on Saturday, February 6, from 9:00am-10:30am. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be held virtually via Zoom to help ensure participant and organizer safety. Speakers will include Dr. Abdur Khan, a CRMC interventional cardiologist, and Dr. J.J. Chen, a CRMC psychiatrist. Part of this year’s focus will be on the impact that heart disease, including heart attacks, can have on mental health. The other focus of this year’s event will be on how to improve and maintain heart health. A question and answer session with a panel of CRMC cardiology and behavioral health experts will be held at the end of the event. Instructions on how to ask questions via Zoom will be included in each participant’s “conference in a box.â€? Conference boxes will also include dietary tips, hearthealthy recipes, tobacco cessation information, an exercise band, a water bottle, a stress ball and a healthy snack. Boxes will be available for pickup at the CRMC Foundation before the event. There is a $10 fee to register, with all proceeds going toward the purchase of an automated external deďŹ brillator for the Cheyenne community. The organization’s co-chairs Camellia El-Antably and Rakhshi Hamid agreed, it would be impossible to manage safety measures for all of the workers and customers. Members hope to hold a sale in March of 2022. If loyal friends have saved books to donate, hold them if you possibly can. DKG will hope to be back in business then.
Wyoming State Historical Society Offering Grants Need ďŹ nancial assistance to help ďŹ nalize your history project? The Wyoming State Historical Society, a non-proďŹ t membership driven educational organization, offers cash grants to people involved in research activities based on various aspects of the state’s history. The grants, ranging from $100 up to $1,500 are awarded based on applications submitted to the Society’s Lola Homsher Endowment Fund Committee. The deadline is February 28, 2021 with applicants notiďŹ ed of the results in the spring. All applications must be submitted electronically via the Society’s website at www. wyshs.org. The committee reviews all proposals and makes awards after the selection process has been completed, usually in the spring. Preference is given to proposals that promise original research on topics related to Wyoming history. Wyoming residents are also given preference, but all applications are welcome. Applications and rules can be obtained by visiting the Society’s website www.wyshs.org and selecting “Programsâ€? and then “Lola Homsher Research Grant Program.â€? The Wyoming Peer Specialist Training prepares individuals who have personally lived-experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges, and who are now in longterm recovery from those challenges, to help others achieve long-term recovery. The Wyoming Peer Specialist Trainings will be held intermittently over the next two years. CRMC Eases Visitor Restrictions Cheyenne Regional Medical Center ofďŹ cials announced that the hospital’s visitor restrictions have been eased due to the stabilization of COVID-19 metrics in the community. The visitor policy will continue to be reviewed and modiďŹ ed as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of CRMC patients, visitors, employees and medical staff. At the West campus, the visitor/patient screening entrance is accessible from the west side of CRMC’s south parking garage. At the East campus, the visitor entrance is located just inside the main entrance on the south side of the building. CRMC’s emergency department is open for emergency care 24/7.
