Science Engineering and Research Board (SERB) GAP329826 Project assistant- II Nanopore sequencing-based rapid monitoring of Covid-19nucleic acids in the drains of Pune River M. Sc. Degree (awarded) in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Genomics with minimum 55 % marks oe equivalent CGPA (aggregate) Prior hands-on experience on molecular biology techniques like RNA/Viral RNA isolations, qPCR is must.

Hands on experience on next gen sequencing would be an added advantage, but not mandatory.

30 years Project involves major field work in and around Pune, Water/sediment collection and transportation to lab, RNA isolation, Nanopore Sequencing and analysis, Manuscript/Report writing Rs. 31,000/- (No HRA) ONE (1)

* Age limit for project assistant at level I/II/III will be as 28/30/35 years respectively with five years relaxation for statutory groups and women.

The engagement will be initially for a period of six months, which may be extended or curtailed, depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

21.08.2020 by 5.30pm (emails received after this, will be rejected). Email subject line as ‘GAP329826- Application for PA-II position’. No hard copy of submissions would be entertained.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

The candidates short listed by the Screening Committee for being called for interview would be updated online on 24.08.2020 or students can also seek information through email (as mentioned above).

ONLINE interview will be conducted from 10 am onwards on 26.08.2020. Meeting link will be provided to only shortlisted candidates.

No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
