Qualification Essential: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biology with minimum 60% marks. OR B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology with minimum 60% marks.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
GATE/NET/JEST/TIFR written entrance test qualification (any one) is required at the time of joining. If you have given either of these exams and results are awaited within the next 2 months, then you can apply. Desirable: Research experience in any one or more of the following: synthesis and characterization of organic molecules/fluorescence spectroscopy/mammalian cell culture/fluorescence microscopy.
Job Requirement
The JRF will be a part of the Chemical Biology and Molecular Imaging research program (PI: Ankona Datta) at the Department of Chemical Sciences at TIFR. The appointee will be expected to perform cuttingedge research in the development of fluorescent chemo-sensors for imaging bio-molecules. The project will help the JRF develop skills in synthetic chemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy, handling cellular and multicellular systems, and confocal fluorescence microscopy. Candidates motivated to build a research career in chemical biology and excited to work at the interface of chemistry and biology, with prior research experience in any of the aforementioned techniques will be preferred.

Appointment as JRF is temporary and Starting will be initially salary: for a period of Rs 31,000/one year. The + HRA as position is admissible extendable up to a total of 3 years based on performance.
