• In 2015, WVU’s defense was ranked No. 2 nationally in interceptions, No. 5 in turnovers gained, No. 8 in most opponent three and outs, No. 11 in opponent third-down defense and No. 15 in turnover margin • Defense was No. 1 in the Big 12 in rushing defense, interceptions and opponent first-down defense and second in scoring defense, total defense and opponent third-down defense • Four defensive players were selected in 2016 NFL Draft: Karl Joseph (S, First Round), Daryl Worley (CB, Third Round), Nick Kwiatkoski (LB, Fourth Round) and KJ Dillon (S, Fifth Round)
• Kwiatkoski was named All-American First Team (ProFootball Focus) and Joseph was a secondteam selection (CBSSports) • Kwiatkoski and Worley were named All-Big 12 First Team and Dillon was on the second team • In 2014, WVU’s defense was No. 9 in third down defense, No. 12 in fourth-down defense and No. 15 in highest percentage of opponent three downs and out and No. 28 in passing efficiency defense • Kwiatkoski led the Mountaineer defense with 103 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss and Wes Tonkery was third with 69 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss • Kwiatkoski was No. 10 in the Big 12 in tackles and tied for No. 13 in tackles for loss • Tonkery was WVU’s Liberty Bowl Scholar Athlete • Brandon Golson finished his WVU career tied for No. 2 in forced fumbles (6) • In 2013, WVU’s defense was No. 4 nationally in fumbles recovered and No. 19 in turnovers gained
