European Hip Society - 10th Congress Milano, Italy 20 - 22 September 2012

Welcome Dear friends, dear colleagues, dear members of EHS, It is a great honour for me to welcome all of you to the 10th Congress of the European Hip Society in the lovely city of Milan during the pleasant season of September. The scientific program has the aim of covering the main hot topics of the hip pathologies: from paediatric to elderly age, from conservative surgery to revisions.

4 main Lectures, 10 Symposia based on one theme, 6 free Instructional Courses a video educational corner and one session of “question to the scientists”, an

open discussion with engineers and technicians, are scheduled. Celebrating our 10th Meeting, more than 500 abstracts have been submitted from 43 different countries,

not only European. After the reviewing process 274 papers have been accepted for oral presentation and divided according to the topics into 29 different sessions. The ten best abstracts, presented in a special session, will compete for two awards. 163 more have been selected for e-poster presentation. I hope that these two and half very busy days are rich of scientific information and debate among the attendees and I am sure that they will constitute an opportunity for all of us to improve our knowledge and skills. I want to thank all the members of the ExCom for supporting me in organizing this important event, the organizing secretary for the technical help, the reviewers for the excellent job in evaluating all the submitted papers, the sponsoring industries and above all the speakers for their high scientific contribution to the 10th Congress of the European Hip Society. Italy and Milan with its historical places like Duomo, the Sforzesco Castle, the Romanic Church of S.Ambrogio, with its art masterpieces like “The Last Supper” of Leonardo, with its art museums, the Scala Theatre and its fashion are proud to host all of you. I look forward to meeting you and I wish you an exciting experience in Milan!
