THE COLLECTED HOME Vol. 4 December 2019

Cicada song at night, countless rounds of backyard cricket and relaxed long lunches punctuated by prawns and prosecco. There’s something special about an Australian Christmas. Whether it’s hosting a barbecue in the garden with family, or cocktails & carols in your living room with friends – it’s always a perfectly laidback occasion to mark an almost endless summer. The way in which we celebrate says so much about our style and lives – effortless sophistication marked by memorable moments. Vintage mixed with something new. Our homes tell our stories, and this season is all about finding joy in the small things.

MY CHILDREN

The Pottery Barn Kids Walkie Talkie set is going to be in my kids’ Santa sacks, as they just love walkie talkies, and all their friends love them too. These will provide hours of fun over the school holidays.

Copper cookware is like jewellery to me – and it’s something I’m slowly collecting, which I’ll hand down to my kids one day. I love cooking with copper because it heats up so quickly and retains the temperature evenly. Mauviel Copper Sugar Pot, 1 L, $180, from Williams Sonoma
