Elementary attendance area Community meeting

October 8, 2013 7:00 PM Nation Ford High School Multi-Purpose Room

WHY ARE THESE CHANGES NECESSARY? • The current enrollment at five of the district’s seven elementary schools is at or near capacity. • The district is experiencing a major upswing in residential construction. • In order to accommodate the increased student enrollments, the district is building two new elementary schools as well as a replacement for Riverview. • The opening of these schools in 2014 brings with it the need to adjust the elementary attendance area boundaries. • The proposed adjustments are designed to alleviate the need for further attendance area changes over the course of the next 5-6 years. • Fort Mill School District is geographically the smallest, yet one of the fastest growing per capita in the State of South Carolina.

All Fort Mill School District schools received Palmetto Gold awards recognizing outstanding student academic performance.
