Located in beautiful Weston, Missouri, we offer a premier public education with a private school feel. West Platte students are exposed to countless opportunities that allow them to explore brand new activities and ideas, to develop quality character traits, to find mentors and make friends, to learn and understand the joy of giving back, and to work successfully as an individual and as a team member. Excellence in Education The West Platte School District promotes high achievement through exceptional academics, personalized learning, quality science and math programs, and an outstanding visual and performing arts program.     

Recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as having achieved “Accreditation with Distinction in Performance.” Top Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) scores in the state as assessed in Communication Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. A+ High School which allows graduates to attend any junior college or trade school in Missouri tuition free. ACT scores above state and national averages. On average, 78% of West Platte seniors attend college annually.

Community The West Platte School District provides a rich history and small community that allows for a welcoming and supportive place to raise a family! West Platte offers a variety of extra curricular activities as well as community-sponsored programs for youth. 

Active Parent Teacher Organization for grades K-6 and Booster Club for grades 7-12.

Before/after school-age child care available with activities, homework help, and a nurturing staff.

Extracurricular Activities include: Performing Arts, Band, Choir, Science Club, Chorale, Book Club, Green Club, Science Fair, Student Council, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Flags, Math Bee, Spanish Club, Spelling Bee, and Academic Bowl.

Community-sponsored Youth Activities: Football, Basketball, Baseball/Softball, Wrestling, Soccer, Community Theater, Boy/Girl Scouts, and 4-H.

Accessibility The West Platte School District is very convenient to many amenities. West Platte is located in Weston, Missouri, and is a small community of just over 1600 residents. Convenience is a priority for many families, and Weston is perfectly situated for just that! We offer small town charm with easy access to city amenities! 

Located 15 minutes from Kansas City International Airport, 35 minutes from Downtown Kansas City, 35 minutes from St. Joseph, and only 15 minutes from Leavenworth, Kansas.

Weston is home to Weston Bend State Park, several city parks, restaurants, orchards, Snow Creek Skiing, and Main Street Shopping!
