Board Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30PM at the Terrace Centre.

Dear Worth Park District Residents, Families and Friends: The Fall season should be an exciting one for all our residents and families! It is hoped that you will take advantage of the variety of programs and services offered this season and highlighted with the Family Fall Fest on Sunday, October 2 and the Halloween Haunted Trail - October 28-30. The Park District is committed to maintaining and improving its parks and facilities. This year great efforts have been made in improving the Veterans Memorial Park with the restoration and cleaning of the monument, repainting of the monument, bricks, benches and podium and the restoration of the POW-MIA mural by our own Worth resident and artist, Mark Vancura. More improvements will be seen at this park, as we honor those who so proudly served our country. It was announced in July that the Park District was the recipient of a $146,500 matching grant from the Department of Natural Resources for improvements for Peaks Park. We are very pleased to have been awarded this support which will make a significant impact to Peaks Park for many years. Look for more information on this project on the Park District website and on display at the Terrace Centre. The project is slated to begin in the Spring of 2023. On behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners and staff, we thank you for your continued support and participation. If there are ever any questions regarding our programs and services, please do not hesitate to contact us. Robert O’Shaughnessy, CPRP

Director of Parks and Recreation

Fall Trail Tale For the month of October, the Worth Park District and the Worth Public Library District invite you to walk our spookified Trail Tale at Homerding Park. We've put the picture book Creepy Pair of Underwear! by Aaron Reynolds on display so that as you walk the path from the parking lot to the playground, you will be able to read a story as a family. At the end, scan the QR code and fill out our quick survey for the chance to win a four pack of tickets to the Brookfield Zoo!

The Living Memorial Tree Program

The Living Memorial Tree Program is a result of many families and friends wishing to remember that special person or event through the perpetual growth of a tree. Modeled after successful programs from across the country, the Worth Park District program can fit most any need whether it is to celebrate the birth of a child, recognize the accomplishments of an individual, group or organization, establish a tradition, commemorate a wedding or memorialize a loved one. These trees help to beautify your community’s parks while standing as a strong and tender reminder of your loved ones. Your Living Memorial will be planted and cared for in any neighborhood or community park listed. Worth Park District will consult with you to determine the best location in the park of your choice, depending on the variety of tree you choose. For more information on the Living Memorial Tree Program, please contact the Park District at (708) 448-7080. A wonderful way to mark a special moment in time.
