CAROL CONCERT OVER 16s ONLY A heady mix of artistic integrity, loyalty and avarice has put Jimmy back on the road. If you only see one comedy show this year… what’s the matter with you? Get out more! A ‘rapier’ is the long sword of a gentleman. ‘Rapier wit’ is defined as clever, quick, intelligent humour. Please note Jimmy Carr doesn’t have ‘the long sword of a gentleman’ and even if you like him, ‘clever, quick and intelligent’ is a bit of a stretch.

After touring the UK and Europe with The Eagles this summer, legendary singer, songwriter and former front man of Ace, Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics returns to Worthing to celebrate his acclaimed new album I Know That Name. With hits including How Long, Tempted and The Living Years, Paul’s marvellously soulful voice is known to millions. Don’t miss it! ”Paul Carrack is a gifted one-man-band in the mould of Paul McCartney” - The Independent

The singers are delighted to be performing their 40th Anniversary Carol Concert with an eclectic mix of Christmas carols and songs and the choir are pleased to welcome Worthing Youth Big Band under director Andy Bearcroft as their soloists. The concert will be conducted by Jacqueline Emery and accompanied by the choir’s musical director, Helen Emery. Tickets available from 01903 238792 or the box office.

By Chris Burgess Direction and musical staging by Stewart Nicholls Musical direction by Neil MacDonald Heathrow Airport. 1970. The legendary Dietrich and her great friend Noël Coward are stranded in a V.I.P lounge … and she pours out her heart to him. “Poor darling glamorous stars, their lives are so lonely and wretched. Nothing but applause, flowers, and Rolls-Royces. It’s too pathetic and wrings the heart.” - Noël Coward’s Diaries But Marlene has news that alarms even the facetious Mr Coward … news that revives memories of the war, and her painful return to Berlin in 1960. After lunch (and the interval) Marlene and Noël treat the audience to the comic mayhem of a dress-run of a combined concert. Nothing goes as planned but as they rehearse, they feature all their hit songs from Lilli Marlene and London Pride to Naughty Lola and Mad About the Boy. KATE O’MARA has played vamps in Dynasty, Howard’s Way and Doctor Who. On stage she has played Shakespeare, Shaw, Wilde, Fry, Eliot and Stoppard. FRANK BARRIE, a leading actor in Olivier’s National Theatre Company, has played a vast number of major roles on stage and TV and has performed his award- winning show MACREADY! in sixty-five countries to date.

Dorian Gray (15) 112 mins This brand new big-screen version of Oscar Wilde’s spine-chilling tale, from the director of The Importance of Being Earnest, tells of naïve Dorian (Ben Barnes), a vulnerable youth who gets corrupted into leading a life of guilt-free hedonism by the rich, charismatic Henry (Colin Firth). In order to sustain his insatiable desire for pleasures of the flesh, Dorian sells his soul and while his body no longer ages, the sinister secret behind his eternal youth remains hidden in his attic.
