Completing ‘Getting Ready For Packs’ In preparation for the start of term all new students starting in September are required to complete homework over the summer for each of their subjects which should be ready to hand in at your first lesson from Thursday 13th September. What to do on GCSE Results Day 23rd August 2018

• Please enter your actual grades onto Application Tracker, via the link here using your PIN and enter your grades under the tab – Existing Qualifications. • A telephone hotline will be available from 9am to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Call 01903 275755 and follow the instructions to access the GCSE hotline.

Fees & Charges payable by all new students Please read the full details of the fees and charges associated with starting at college as payments are generally required when you enrol. Click here for full details. Key highlights include: • All students are requested to pay a College Fund of £100 at enrolment, £50 of which is refundable when students leave college. • Financial support available (subject to meeting certain criteria). Application forms for financial assistance will be available at enrolment. The initial deadline for applications is 30th September 2018. • The following Academies have fees associated with them for equipment, kit etc. Sport, Visual Arts & Performing Arts. • The following courses also have fees associated with them: Health & Social Care, Sport and Sport & Exercise Science. • How and when to pay.

What you need to bring to enrolment You will have received details of your individual enrolment appointment with your offer. It can also be found on Application Tracker in the Offer Reply tab. To enrol at Worthing College, you are required to bring the following 4 things with you on the day you enrol: 1. Printed proof of your GCSE and similar results: For most people this will be the print-out they collect from school on 23rd August - make sure any BTEC, OCR or DIDA results are included as well as GCSEs and include any certificates or results from previous years, including any Year 10 Core Science results. 2. Valid Proof of ID: We must see the original document of one of the following: birth certificate, in-date passport or if applicable, a letter from the Home Office to demonstrate you have the right to remain. 3. Your college fund payment of ÂŁ100: This is payable on the day of your enrolment by debit/credit card, cash or cheque (made payable to Worthing College). 50% of your college fund is refundable at the end of your time at college, if as a student, you do not lose or damage materials or property or incur administration costs. A local trip consent form: This form, valid for your time at college must be signed by your parent/carer to give on-going consent for local (Sussex) trips. Please download the form here, ask your Parent/Carer to sign and bring it with you to your enrolment appointment.

You will not be able to complete your enrolment without the above information. If you turn up to your enrolment without any of the list above, you will be asked to go home and collect the relevant items to ensure you can complete your enrolment. 5


Attending your college Induction Day You will be invited to attend an important induction day on either Tuesday 11th or Wednesday 12th September and you will be advised of which date on the day you enrol.

Getting your timetable Your individual timetable will be issued on-line at 2.00pm on Wednesday 12th September. Details of how to access your timetable will be issued at your Induction Day.

Teaching starts Thursday 13th September Lessons start every day at 8.30am with one exception which is Tuesday mornings where lessons start at 11am. There are three teaching sessions a day and each lesson is 120 minutes with a 10 minute break included.

Day Structure

You will not be in lessons in every teaching session and your individual timetable will reflect this. To give you an understanding of the college day here is an outline of the teaching sessions Session 1 - 8.30 – 10.40* Morning Break 10.40 - 11.00 Session 2 - 11.00 – 1.10 Lunch Break 1.10 – 1.55 Session 3 - 1.55 – 4.05 *No Session 1 on Tuesdays
