Am I responsible for a locksmith in this scenario? I am currently renting a condo. The upstairs bedrooms have two doors which lock from the inside, but are keyed and not privacy knobs. I locked myself out, leaving my wallet, phone, computer, and car keys locked inside the room. My roommates were not there, and I couldn't reach them if I wanted to because all of my possessions were inside. Even though it's a keyed door there was no such key in the house. I also had no way to contact my landlord, so I had to call a locksmith, who had to drill the lock.
I didn't notify my landlord because I wasn't able to, and my lease doesn't mention anything regarding locksmiths. There was a part that mentions that the tenant inspects everything, but there is also a key section, and I only acknowledged the receipt of front door keys. Am I responsible for the cost of both the locksmith and the doorknob? https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=2 0150729004211AAHZO27
