Healthy Mind Body & Spirit By Minister Surette Sands The concept of wholeness is not new or foreign. However, in order to embrace this concept from a biblical perspective, one must be willing to transform the mind. The bible says you should “let this mind be in you which is also in Christ.” Thus, we have to transform our mind and way of thinking to that of Jesus Christ. This concept in simple terms refers to “Old” versus “New” Thinking or “False” versus “True.” For example, sometimes we think that we must be strong and independent to survive. The Truth to be embraced is that the Lord is our shield and strength and our strength is only of the Lord. (Psalm 4:8, 27:1, 28:7).

Capture The Terrorist We must also set our mind on truth. We must capture the terrorist in our lives. We often think of terrorist as our circumstances and other people. It feels like they are and we have been told that they are. However, false beliefs and deceptive thoughts are the terrorist and their fortress must be thrown down and taken captive. “Do not be conformed to this world, but “be transformed by the RENEWING OF THE MIND.” (Ephesians 4:23). The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the SPIRIT is life and peace. (Rom 8:6). The weapons by which we capture the terrorist’ fortress are found in Christ’s submission, His obedience and his attitude or “MIND-SET.” The bible admonishes us to follow the humble mindset of Christ. We are to let this MIND be in us which was also in Christ. (Philippians 2:5).

SAINTS, GOD WANTS YOU WHOLE!

LORD, HEAL OUR LAND Pastor Kathy Netterville

“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23

Our land is POLLUTED and evil is increasing in the land on a daily basis.

MURDER - RAPE - CHILD ABUSE - IDOLATRY - WITCHCRAFT – SEXUAL SINS - VIOLENCE – REBELLION – HOMOSEXUALITY – And so many other sins

You can turn on the news and you will hear that this is happening all over America. Our land is polluted. It is sin that pollutes the land and it is because of the Lord’s mercies, that we are not consumed. An example of what happens when we sin is the children of Israel. After the Lord delivered the children of Israel from their bondage in Egypt, they soon “forgot” what the

Lord had done for them. Moses was up on the mountain, receiving the Ten Commandments, written on tablets of stone, by the finger of God. The children of Israel saw Moses go up the mountain. They saw the cloud cover him. But he was there for 40 days and 40 nights. In Exodus 32:1 the people saw that Moses delayed to come down. So they gathered themselves together and asked Aaron to make gods for them. You see the children of Israel had “given up” on Moses coming back! God had saved them by ten plagues on the Egyptians. He had parted the red sea! But Moses was gone too long. You know how the story goes; they used their golden earrings and gave them to Aaron. Aaron built an altar and made a molten calf. In Ex 32:4 “ . . . they said, these be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” Here was Moses up on the mountain getting the Ten Commandments and they were already violating the second commandment, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me, thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.” The sin of Idolatry! Can you imagine this? The fire of God stayed between them and the Egyptians. And it held them off so the children could cross the sea. Yet they forgot all of it. When God looked down and saw what they had done, He was going to destroy them. But Moses interceded for their lives, and because of his intercession, God spared them. Another example is Cain and Abel. (Genesis 4:9-12) Cain murdered his brother Abel. And he was cursed by God. This means that God would no longer bless his efforts to gain his living from the ground. It was a curse of barrenness and unproductiveness. So what happens when God’s laws are transgressed and the land is polluted with sin? Well, in Leviticus 18:25 it reads, “And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.” And if you continue to read Leviticus 18 you will read about sins that pollute the land. Adultery is sin. Pornography is sin. Homosexuality is a sin. In Lev 18:22 it reads “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with woman kind; it is an abomination” According to Webster’s dictionary and abomination is Abhorrence; disgust. It is an extreme hostility or dislike. Sin is an abomination to God; it is a stench, a stink to his nostrils. So in Lev 18:25 it states that “the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.” How does the land do this? By famine, war, abortion, storms, earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, poverty and plagues. Now in Deuteronomy chapter 28, we read all about the promised blessings for obedience and the promised curses for disobedience (the consequences of turning from God). Blessings are directly associated with God and come from God. To be blessed “means to be favored by God” Cursing is the opposite and those of the curse will experience evils associated with the disfavor of God. God has set before us a blessing and a curse. A blessing if we obey and a curse if we do not. Let’s look at Jonah. Jonah was a prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel. God called him to go to Nineveh to warn them of His judgment.

God was going to destroy Nineveh because the land was polluted with their sins. We know that Jonah did not want to go. He even tried to run from the call. But while he was in the belly of the whale, Jonah repented and called upon the Lord. So God called Jonah again. This time Jonah arose and went into Nineveh. He entered into the city, a day’s journey, and he cried and said, yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown. Now the people of Nineveh BELIEVED God and proclaimed a fast. They fasted and prayed to God and repented of the evil and violence in their lands. When God saw that they turned from their evil way and God repented of the evil that he had said he would do to Nineveh. God cancelled His plans of judgment. You see the people of Nineveh believed God. They accepted Jonah’s messages. They knew that they were doomed unless they repented. God is willing to show mercy to all who seek him in humility and sincerity. God is a merciful God and He is moved with compassion for those who sincerely repent. 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” This is a promise from God! God promises to heal our land and to forgive our sin. But only “IF” we meet His conditions. The Lord says, “IF MY PEOPLE”, He is talking to us the believers. We are His people. The promise is to us, and it comes with a responsibility, to obey His word. When we meet God’s conditions, He will heal our land and He will forgive our sins, but he will also revive us and refresh us. Revival is restoration. It is a renewed strength, a spiritual renewal for believers and a spiritual awakening and a time of healing for both believers and non-believers. Here we are in the year 2012. We can see the condition of the church; we can see the condition of our nation. What are we doing about it? We need to take God’s Word seriously and we need to fall on our knees, in unity and begin to sincerely seek God. We need to pray and repent of our personal sins and the sins of our nation. We need to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. Then God will begin to restore and to revive us and our nation. We will begin to see the supernatural. We will see miracles, signs and wonders. Come and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. Hosea 6 Many people talk about revival. I want to see revival. Let us begin to examine ourselves and turn once again back to God. Let us search and try our ways and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. Thou has covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pities.

WHY DO WE PRAY? Prophetess Barbara Padilla Prayer is communicating with God. Even though we do not see Him, we pray in faith. We pray with expectation, that God hears and listens to our prayers. Just as he walked in the Garden of Eden and talked with Adam and Eve, we have the same opportunity that they had an even a better one. For He dwells within us. Praise God. Prayer changes things With so much out of order today, much prayer is needed. As believers, we must pray without ceasing. In season and out of season. I encourage you today to set aside some time to talk with God. He needs us to pray in the kingdom, so His will can be done on earth as it is in heaven. The harvest is ripe, we can do it together. So let us rise and let our light shine for it is truly time to pray. Let us inquire of the Lord, what He will have us to pray. He will lead and guide you even in prayer. Praise God! So let’s team up with God.

THE NUMBER ONE OBSTACLE TO EFFECTIVE EVANGELISM IS LACK OF PRAYER We cannot strive to evangelize the community without saturating the efforts in prayer. We cannot hope to influence the hardened hearts and lost souls without inviting God to empower and bless our efforts on His behalf. The most compelling models of church evangelism emerge from churches that engage in consistent, abundant prayer for the outreach ministry. The beauty of prayer is that God answers the prayers of those who are striving to do His will and it costs us nothing to request His blessing.

PRAYER IS OUR POWER SOURCE Evangelism is one of the most important elements of being faithful and obedient to God. The task that you and I have us to think and pray about how God might use us. So we can be effective in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Six out of ten Americans Are LOST and NOT interested In attending church. This makes America The 3rd largest mission field in the world. HOW WILL GOD EVER REACH THEM? God has a plan! His name is JESUS

Greener is not Greater Evangelist Chris Sands

Why does the grass always look greener on the other side? As people we often choose the most attractive mate, the best paying job, the nicer looking neighborhood and the best friends. In Genesis 13:10 Lot, Abraham’s nephew, made this mistake as I suppose we all have been guilty of making in one form, fashion or another. Unfortunately for some of us we have the tendency of repeating the same mistake instead of learning from it. Abraham rescued Lot the first time but could only pray and intercede on his behalf the second time. (Gen.18:20-33) Maybe you’ve made the same mistake more than once. Don’t feel ashamed! Thank God that there’s somebody named JESUS, interceding for us all the time while we’re having a hard time dealing with our circumstances, situations and/or issues. Peter quoted Solomon’s Proverb 26:11 in 2 Peter 2:22 that as a dog returns unto his own vomit so does a fool to his folly and/ or foolishness. Peter goes on to say that a pig washed shall return to wallow in the mire. Let us pray for wisdom for ourselves and others to learn from our mistakes not to repeat them for in doing so will only lead us down a path to destruction.
