In December, the C.A.R.E.S. Committee generously helped the Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County (DRC-MC) collect educational tools and materials for its Youth Peace Programs.
The mission of the DRC-MC is to provide and promote affordable, high-quality conflict resolution services and training to the Montgomery County area. In addition to the mediation services and training programs it offers for adults, the DRCMC also provides conflict resolution training to Montgomery County students in Grades K-12 such as:
Conflict Busters Peace Camp – A two-day camp where students in grades 3-12 learn how to manage conflict responsibly while engaging in fun filled activities. Camp participants learn about conflict, why it escalates, and how to resolve disputes peacefully. Bullying prevention and sibling rivalry are also covered.
Juvenile Justice Conflict Resolution Training Program –First time youth offenders who have engaged in assault are referred to the DRC-MC’s four week Conflict Resolution Training Program with a parent or guardian. They both learn anger management techniques, active listening skills, and constructive ways to resolve disputes peacefully.

Friends for Peace – the DRC-MC works with foreign exchange students residing in the Woodlands area on how to engage in problem solving discussions and resolve conflicts peacefully.
Additionally, the DRC-MC also provides Youth Peace Programs during it Unity Day presentations in Montgomery County elementary schools and through its Peer Mediation training programs at local high schools. All programs are free or extremely low cost.

The DRC-MC will utilize all educational materials donated or collected through the C.A.R.E.S. Committee to maintain student attention so that they learn the skills presented in DRCMC Youth Peace Programs. This will help Montgomery County youth learn to utilize peaceful conflict resolution skills in their homes, schools and community. We are extremely grateful to the C.A.R.E.S. Committee for their assistance in providing educational tools and materials for the Youth Peace Programs and their contributions for a peaceful community.
The DRC-MC is a 501(c)(3) corporation that has been helping Montgomery County residents with “difficult conversations since 1988”. To learn more about DRC-MC programs, services and volunteer opportunities go to resolution-center.org or call 936-760-6914, Ext.4.
Ina city as dynamic and fast-growing as Houston, homeowners are constantly looking for smarter, more beautiful ways to live in the spaces they already love. That’s where Art of Drawers Houston comes in. As the region’s premier custom drawer and home-organization specialists, Art of Drawers Houston transforms cluttered, hard-to-use cabinets into elegant, highly functional spaces that bring ease, accessibility, and joy back into everyday life.
Art of Drawers is a nationally recognized brand, but Houston’s location is proudly locally owned and operated, serving families across the Greater Houston area with a personalized, design-forward approach. The company specializes in custom pull-out drawers, shelving, dividers, and storage systems for kitchens, bathrooms, pantries, laundry rooms, home offices, and garages. Every solution is handcrafted and custom-measured to fit the homeowner’s exact cabinetry—no cookie-cutter inserts, no wasted space, and no compromise on quality.

What truly sets Art of Drawers Houston apart is not just the craftsmanship—it’s the mission. The team believes that an organized home is a happier, healthier home. When cabinets are easy to access, when heavy items don’t require bending or reaching, and when everything has its place, daily life becomes less stressful and more enjoyable. For seniors, people with mobility challenges, busy families, and anyone tired of fighting their cabinets, these solutions can be genuinely life-changing.
Art of Drawers Houston is also deeply committed to the community it serves. The team regularly works with
homeowners who want to age in place safely, helping reduce the risk of strain or injury by bringing items forward and within reach. They also partner with local builders, designers, real estate professionals, and remodelers to help elevate homes with thoughtful, functional upgrades that add both comfort and resale value.
From the first in-home design consultation to the final professional installation, every step is handled with care, respect, and attention to detail. Most projects are completed in just a few hours, with minimal disruption and immediate, visible results.
Art of Drawers Houston isn’t about ripping out kitchens or starting over— it’s about making what you already have work better. By turning wasted cabinet space into beautifully organized, easy-to-use storage, they help Houston homeowners fall back in love with their homes—one drawer at a time.

Each April, National Volunteer Month gives communities an opportunity to spotlight the people and organizations who quietly make an immeasurable difference in our community. The Chamber celebrates that spirit with our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, a themed event created exclusively for nonprofit organization Chamber members.
This year’s luncheon theme is “Mahalo for All You Do!”, recognizing the impact nonprofit leaders, staff and volunteers deliver every day. From meeting critical needs to strengthening quality of life across the region, these organizations reinforce what makes The Woodlands area strong: collaboration, shared purpose and a commitment to community.
Chamber nonprofit members are essential to that ecosystem, connecting resources to people, programs and solutions that help our region thrive. This event brings them together in a setting designed to celebrate accomplishments, spark new relationships and elevate the stories behind the work.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses that want to align with service, community impact and local leadership. Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon sponsors receive meaningful visibility among Chamber nonprofit members and engaged community stakeholders while supporting a program that honors organizations improving lives across our region. Sponsorship is an effective way to demonstrate corporate citizenship, build brand affinity and show tangible support for the people and missions that strengthen The Woodlands area.
