We are here to make a difference. Our signature Woodio® material is the world’s first 100% waterproof solid wood composite made from real wood chips with a minimal carbon footprint - designed for private and commercial bathroom interiors. Our collections bring together modern Scandinavian simplicity with our material in the heart of the design. We offer a new alternative for the conscious home owner.

We come from the land of forests. In Finland the old wood industry meets research and innovation. Woodio is built on this heritage and constant curiosity of doing more with what we already have. Therefore it is only natural, that all our products are designed and manufactured in Finland at Woodio’s own factory. The Association for Finnish Work has awarded all Woodio products the Key Flag symbol in recognition of products made in Finland. We have also been awarded the Design from Finland mark that is awarded to companies that have contributed to Finnish design. We are proud to carry these awards as a symbol of Finnish work, design and craftmanship.

Material Innovation We strive to make sustainable choices throughout the whole production process - from the material itself to manufacturing, long-term use and disposal. WoodioÂŽ material technology is an innovative combination of wood and resin based adhesives. We wanted to combine the advantages of ceramic and related bathroom materials, while offering a solution to their issues. Approximately 80% of our product content is locally sourced solid wood or wood sourced from Finnish forest industry side-streams.
Manufacturing All Woodio products are manufactured in Finland at Woodio’s own factory with close to carbon neutral manufacturing process. Our patent pending cast moulding technology does not require high amounts of water and energy, or high-temperature ovens to make the final product. This is why carbon footprint is a lot lower than bathroom materials traditionally have. The CO2 savings per unit are 55kg less than with a similar sized ceramic basin. The low weight of the final product and durability also reduce emissions and losses in logistics.
Long-term use Woodio material is far more impact resistant than many other bathoom materials, making it practically unbreakable in normal use. It is maintenance free and the expected life time is the same as with any traditional bathroom materials – or even longer.
Disposal Woodio products serve as a CO2 storage. Products can be burned as energy when it has come to the end of it’s lifecycle. No landfill waste.

Our expressive sustainable solid wood composite is the core element in all our product design. The modern, functional and minimalistic design accentuates the unique texture of the solid wood composite material.
Polar draws its warmth from the material’s core raw ingredient - locally sourced aspen. Polar is available throughout the Woodio product range.
