THE GERALDINE R. DODGE POETRY FESTIVAL, the largest poetry event in North America, marks its 26th year by returning to its new home of Newark, NJ for four days of poetry readings and discussions featuring several dozen of the world’s leading poets. U.S. Poets Laureate Philip Levine and Natasha Tretheway will be among those reading on the stage of NJPAC’s Prudential Hall. During each day, simultaneous events will take place throughout the “Poetry Village” in the Downtown Arts District. The first night of the Festival offers a special event, a Poetry Sampler, where over two dozen acclaimed poets present back-to-back readings of their work. An event unrivaled at any other poetry gathering, the Poetry Sampler offers a remarkable opportunity to see and hear a stellar roster of contemporary poets all in a span of two hours.
