Hold on to Your Joy, or Get Some! We are in a time of the year when so many things are visibly changing. All around us, leaves are turning colors and falling from the trees. Weather conditions are different than we expect. We are seeing plant life dying all over our city because of drought conditions. Good people are sick. Often we cannot imagine what good could come of such things. Jobs have been lost, with an unclear picture of when more might be available. As we look at these natural things around us, it is easy to begin to think negatively. The news reports daily on the demise of the economy and the rise of crime. We realize that we are in a time of serious transition, but we may not know what we are transitioning to. If you are in the body of believers, you may find yourself saying, “THANK GOD FOR JESUS, THE CHRIST, OUR REDEEMER, AND OUR HOPE!”

Hold on to Your Joy, or Get Some! Continued...

Yet sometimes we say this without even realizing the full impact of the statement. We as Christians have nothing to fear in the time of transition. We have a “hope and a future (an expected end, which because of Christ Jesus, is victorious).

Such a time of transition as we are in, comes as a journey of opportunity to those willing to truly seek the Lord and commit to walking in His ways. Our journey is not unlike that of Noah, for some shall see us as insane for trusting in a God unseen, yet be astonished when we survive what destroys others. It is not unlike the journey of Abram and Sarai, because we may have to leave our comfortable places and move to places unknown, just because the God who knows all said so. We may be asked to make huge sacrifices like Abraham, who believed he would have to sacrifice his son of promise, not knowing how he would obtain the position of father of generations that God had promised. We will have to trust a God whose ways are not our ways, to see the truth of provision. Our journey may be likened to Moses and Joshua, for we will have to go with some people who are not of the same mind as we are, and yet not be influenced by them to be less than God called us to be. Finally, our journey may be like that of David and Joseph, one of great promise, great difficulties, disappointments, a need for mercy, and yet, because of our Mighty God, a journey of having been loved with an everlasting love, and brought to places of victory. Let the words of Hebrews 10:23 encourage you today. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Oh what joy for those who believe and by faith know the truth, Our God shall never leave or forsake us. Even in the time of transition. *** Lynette Peters—Director Women of Principle

Matthew 28:5 Reminder:

But the angel answered and said to the women,

“Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

TIPS FOR YOU Stop cut apples browning in your child's lunch box by securing with a rubber band.

Overhaul your linen cupboard - store bed linen sets inside one of their own pillowcases and there will be no more hunting through piles for a match.

Bread tags make the perfectsized cord labels.

Use egg cartons to separate and store your Christmas decorations.

TODAY... Today I opened my Bible And read just as He told me to. Today I opened my Bible and read scriptures so new and so true. He whispered to me “Open your Bible And I’ll show you truth.” He whispered, “Open your Bible It will help with the pain you’ve been going through.” I read new things and received the revelation and blessing that others have only talked about but I never knew. I did no shouting, no hallelujah, nor amen moment. I only enjoyed the peace and sincerity that came; when after I opened my Bible I discovered that God listens to me too. Then I took out my pen and wrote this poem for you. Inspired by Romans 9. Reshena Edwards
